Description
This is a unique opportunity to stay at The Convent . A 19th century building opposite the Saint Maurice church from the 12th century. It is central for many wonderful locations in Aveyron, including Conques, Bournazel, Decazeville and Rodez plus countless charming and beautiful little villages. 15% off certain dates in June and July. Please message me to discuss longer stay discounts. I am happy to discuss a discount for 7 nights or more. The space This is an amazing property with a renovated ground floor. I do not want anyone coming under the impression this is a finished project. It is NOT suitable for children. If you have a baby and bring your own cot, it is OK but not if they are walking. So far we have installed new wood framed double glazing, fully insulated the attic spaces, installed pompe-a-chaleurs and have air conditioning / heating units in every room and a thermodynamic hot water tank. The kitchen comes with a gas hob, microwave and oven, fridge with a top freezer and double sinks plus a dishwasher. Also, all the crockery and cutlery is provided. Everything you need for most cooking. You cannot go upstairs or into the chapel, but the reast of the ground floor is yours. Guest access You have access on the ground floor to the lounge, kitchen / dining room, 2 bedrooms and their private bathrooms. You can sit outside the property with a table a chairs to enjoy a coffee or maybe glass of wine whilst enjoying the peace of this location. Other things to note The nearest supermarket is about 18km away, so if you are cyclists and have no transport, I am happy to drive you to the supermarket or to go for you, by arrangement. There is a cafe/bar at the bottom of the hill, which is open from Thursday to Sunday. It takes about 10 minutes to walk down the hill and 20 minutes to walk up. There are some lovely little paths around the hill to wind your way down or you can walk down the road.
