Welcome to Magpie Cottage Bed & Breakfast, attractive period cottage with modern amenities. Nestled amidst the stunning Ruapehu landscape, our charming cottage offers a peaceful escape for travellers, couples, and adventurers alike. Relax in the comfort of a well-appointed room, wake up to a delicious homemade breakfast, and enjoy the warm hospitality of your on-site host. The space Magpie Cottage is a single storey modernised traditional cottage where you will enjoy your choice of 2 bedrooms plus your own private bathroom and the use of a full modern kitchen (shared ). The modern well-appointed private bathroom is opposite your room. It is your private lockable bathroom and there is another toilet with a hand-basin off the laundry area. The lounge/dining/kitchen area is a convenient open plan shared space. Enjoy these areas and feel free to use the facilities including the kitchen and tea and coffee making station. An enjoyable feature is a covered deck with outdoor furniture and a barbeque. Breakfast. We provide a free continental breakfast with a variety of choices. Evening meals. See information on suggestions of places where you can go for an evening meal. The kitchen is shared with the host but you are very welcome to cook if you wish to do so. Magpie Cottage does not permit smoking or vaping inside but you are welcome to do so on the covered deck outside. Guest access The 2 bedrooms in the guest suite are your private space with your own entrance. Bedroom 1 has a desk and a Smart TV. Bedroom 2 has French Doors opening onto the covered deck and the garden. Both bedrooms have privacy locks and Bedroom 2 has a Portacot available. You have a private lockable bathroom, plus access to an additional toilet. Other shared spaces include lounge/dining and kitchen area as well as the outside covered deck. Should you require it you also have access the washing machine and dryer. Cycles can be stored in a closed garage During your stay The in-house host Martin welcomes you as a guest to his home. Please do not hesitate to ask him for information or assistance. Should he not be available you can phone him on his mobile. Other things to note At Magpie Cottage we are committed to hosting people, couples, groups of 2 to 4 and families from every background feel welcome and respected, no matter how far they have travelled from home. Taumarunui has patchy cell-phone coverage which affects Magpie Cottage but if you enable Wifi Calling on your phone this should solve the problem. Enjoy Art Activities. We are part of an art group which goes to different places and enjoys taking photos, painting and generally creating art of some form or another or just doing art related activities. If you feel like joining us on these occasions we would love to have you. We have authentic artworks from local artist displayed - some of which may be for sale at realistic prices.
