Marcana is a small town 15 km away from Pula, in the south-eastern part of the peninsula. Here you can visit nearby sinkholes and caves. The largest caves are the Ljubic and Peresin caves. Some stone and pottery remains and even old bones have been found here. These were probably part of the Roman heritage. This area is also known for numerous rustic villas that were built here at that time. These estates were famous for their rustic appearance and interesting stone decorations. If you decide to go sightseeing, you should definitely visit the nearby town of Pula. It is the largest city in Istria, with the beautiful amphitheater, museums and numerous bars and restaurants. Pula also offers numerous cultural events (theater, cinema, concerts, festivals), as well as a lively nightlife, so you certainly won't be bored.
