George's Country Guesthouse

The guesthouse is located in a quiet neighborhood with a pleasant climate, lush with olive groves on small hills, in the area of Mavrovounio, 3 km near the picturesque Gythio. The nearest beach is the sandy beach of Mavrovouni, located 1.5 km from the guest house, where in some places it is organized with umbrellas, catering shops, while in many other not so busy places it is suitable for peace and isolation. The guesthouse was first inhabited in April 2024. The space The guest house has an area of 75 sq.m. and consists of an open space with a living room, dining room and kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped. It has a refrigerator with freezer, electric stove, dishwasher, pots, pan, baking pans, toaster, NESPRESSO coffee machine, filter coffee machine and kettle. In the living room there is a 50-inch smart TV with Greek channels, a library, WiFi, air conditioning, sofas, a dining room and windows with screens facing West and South. The first bedroom (10 sqm) has a double bed (180* 200), air conditioning, TV and an east-facing window. The second bedroom (7.5 sqm) has a double bed, TV, fan and a three-door closet with plenty of storage space. In both rooms the beds are a Coco-mat sleep system and can be divided into 2 single beds. Inside the closet you will find extra pillows, sheets, towels, blankets or duvets depending on the season. The bathroom has a shower with a glass cabin, a 7 kg washing machine, a hair dryer, towels, toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo and shower gel. Hot water is provided by solar or electric water heaters. The guest house has no shutters on its windows. The wifi has high speed via satellite (starlink). Every pet is welcome. We have our own cats on the property, but we also feed the neighborhood. Make sure you're not allergic before making your reservation. A road runs through the estate where it is used by the owners and guests of the second guesthouse. On this estate is built our main residence, George's Country Guesthouse and Penny's Country Guesthouse. There is a car parking space either in the shade of the trees or in the courtyard of the guesthouse. We will be happy to host you in our guesthouse, to make your stay and your visit to our place an unforgettable experience full of beautiful memories. Guest access The guest house is located in a fenced estate of 6 acres, which is planted with olive trees, vines, grapevines, various citrus fruits, quince trees, fig trees, prickly pears and ornamental plants. From all the above we produce our own oil, olives, wine and jams that we will offer you. You can enjoy each fruit fresh in season directly from the trees. Depending on the season, you will have the opportunity, if you wish, to watch the various agricultural works up close and how our products are produced. Mediterranean herbs also thrive on the estate, which are native to the surrounding area and are very beneficial to the human body. Guests have access to the entire estate, except the main residence and the second guest house. Other things to note Gythio is a very good starting point for day trips to Kalamata, Sparta, Taygetos, Parnonas, Mani, Mystras, Monemvasia and Elafonnisos. Kalamata airport is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes away. Athens airport is 3 hours and 30 minutes away. Gythio has a port that connects Kythira and Crete with routes at least once a week. We will provide you with all the information you need for all the beaches, villages, points of interest, tavernas, activities and small markets of local products in the area.
