This unique property set in sleepy & tranquil north Charente & close to the stunning villages of Nanteuil en Vallee & Verteuil sur Charente. Your stay offers a double bedroom & en-suite bathroom. Decorated and furnished to a high standard retaining the authenticity of the French farmhouse. You’ll have a private terrace and sizeable garden accessed directly from the bedroom which is perfect for relaxing & stargazing. The space Welcome to Le Vieux Renard Chambres d’hotes (The Old Fox) which is situated on a grassy lane with the property being the only building on the lane. The farmhouse is typical Charentaise and was built in 1900 and has been recently renovated which includes a complete garden landscaping and fencing. An added sun terrace as well as the outside dining area for guest use with luxury sun loungers and sun bed should you choose to snooze. Guests have use of a private garden with private access through a small gate with the garden still in its infancy with lavenders and other plants/climbers but several mature trees provide natural shaded areas. The terrace/bedroom and bathroom are all very recently redecorated in soft tones and fetching art work leading to a quality ambience which provides a unique peaceful and relaxing guest area. Guest access On arrival guests can park in a dedicated area on the gravel driveway and your hosts will walk you around to the rear of the property through a gate which is the start of your personal private area. The pathway is gravel so your shoes are safe from any mud during inclement weather. The private garden consists of a small pond with all its natural fauna and numerous mature trees including walnut and cherry. Direct access to the terrace area with its upholstered triple sofa and matching chair along with throws for added comfort and high backed upholstered dining chairs add to your comfort during eating. A retro style fridge is for guest use and is stocked with various drinks with an honesty box for any items consumed, ice can be provided on request. The outside terrace area has a tiled floor and solar night star lights and fetching moon light which add to a unique lighting spectacle at night. Views of the open countryside can be enjoyed from the garden and terrace area. You enter your bedroom via a short corridor directly from the terrace where you will also find your en-suite bathroom with towels and quality bathroom products. A key is provided for both bedroom and corridor access if you choose to go out. Other things to note We can provide an additional cooked breakfast option should you choose (added cost). We have a SumUp machine which accepts the majority of card payments. An ATM is however available in Champagne Mouton which is 5 mins away by car.
