There are many independent shops, cafés, bakeries, pubs and restaurants to visit, or why not grab some chips and enjoy them by the riverside? Chatsworth House is very close to Bakewell, where you can buy a ticket to explore the house and gardens, making a great day out. You are spoilt for walks but the closest is the Monsal Trail; you can hop on to this from Bakewell so you won’t even need to take out the car, but if you are happy to, there are many other things to do within just a few miles.
