Description
**Early Check-In & Late Checkout as Standard** Bring a group of old friends or the whole family together in this spacious 17th Century lodge, with an acre of paddocks to yourself. You'll have direct access to the Wye Valley from the garden, so you can leave the car behind and explore the caves of Great Doward or find your way down to the river and hire a SUP, Kayak or Canoe. Mountain bikers are spoilt for choice with miles of local trails and the famous Forest of Dean Cycle Centre nearby. The space There is ample parking for up to 6 cars. Downstairs you will find a large well-equipped kitchen leading into an open plan dining and living room, complete with farmhouse dining table for 6 and a pair of relaxing rocking chairs by the stone fireplace. There is also a separate lounge with cosy woodburning stove, sofa and armchair. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one with a shower over bath and the other with a large walk in rainfall shower) and a smaller room suitable for a cot, travel bed or as a temporary office space. Outside, the garden wraps around the property with a terraced chill out area, patio for Al fresco dining and a large paddock that connects to the local network of public footpaths and bridleways (top-left corner, look out for the donkeys). Wildlife If you're quiet on the way up the driveway you will often find deer and rabbits in the paddock, donkeys occupy the adjoining field at the top of the paddock, they're friendly but will often approach for food. Guest access Full access to the house and gardens, including the upper paddock. Other things to note I am an experienced mountain bike coach and guide, so if you would like to arrange any mountain biking during your stay then please let me know when you book. I'm also happy to point you in the direction of the trails if you'd rather head out on your own.
