Tucked along one of Whitby Old Town’s ancient lanes, our characterful bolthole blends centuries‑old charm with the little luxuries modern travellers expect. Whether you’re flying in from Sydney, road‑tripping up from London or hopping across the Pennines, The Nest is your invitation to Whitby’s magical mash‑up of history and coastal cool. The space Our property is situated on the top floor of one of the oldest buildings in the old town, allowing fantastic views over the rooftops and out to sea. Hence, why she was named- The Nest. The Nest is a beautiful 2 bed, duplex apartment, having been lovingly renovated to bring her back to her former glory she enjoys lots of quirks, wonkiness and interesting features as a result. Entry to our place is via a little yard- Forester's Court. We are the number one, the black door, just to the left as you enter the yard. Once inside our building. There are a few stairs to climb and no lift is available due to the age and Grade II listed status of it. We can assure you that the climb is worth it as once inside The Nest you will instantly fall in love. You enter into a lovely hallway with the shower room straight in front of you. To the left is a storage cupboard where you can hang your coats and put your shoes. We do request however that any sandy shoes be left outside on our landing if at all possible. Then straight ahead is the large lounge/ diner/ kitchen which spans the entire width of the building. We have 4 sash windows within this room allowing light to flood it beautifully. You will find a fully equipped kitchen, quirky dining area and gorgeous Italian leather sofas to recline on of an evening in front of our stove. Coming back out of the lounge area into the hallway there is a small flight of stairs again to access the two bedrooms in the attic. Bedroom one is to the left and bedroom two to the right. Both have absolutely stunning views out over the rooftops of Whitby and to sea. She is suitable for all seasons with decor that appeals to all tastes. Super cosy in the autumn, winter months and fresh and vibrant in the summer. The location of The Nest also could not be more convenient, right on Church St she is in the middle of the action. Two mins from the beach and all local eateries. She is the perfect place to all home, even just for a little while. Guest access You will have full access to all areas of our property. Other things to note There are a few stairs to climb in order to reach our place. Please don't be phased as once at the top you will not be disappointed.
