Inside, the spacious layout keeps everyone connected. The open-plan kitchen and dining space is the heart of the home, featuring a sleek breakfast bar, informal dining table, and comfy lounge seating. Large glass patio doors lead straight out to the south-facing garden, where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the Yorkshire scenery. The kitchen is fully equipped for up to eight guests, with high-end appliances including a wine cooler, fridge-freezer, and dishwasher—perfect for everything from lazy breakfasts to celebratory dinners. At the other end of the house, the bright and airy games room invites hours of fun, with a full-size pool table, comfy seating, and a widescreen TV. It opens into a cosy snug, where you can curl up by the log-burning stove, enjoy a movie night, or sip a glass of wine while watching the sunset through the floor-to-ceiling glass doors. Shorthorn comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests (plus 2 little ones) across four beautifully furnished bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Upstairs, the elegant master suite has a king-size bed and large en-suite with overhead shower. Another upstairs bedroom features a zip-and-link king bed that can be set as twins, also with an en-suite shower room. Downstairs, you'll find two more spacious bedrooms—both with king-size beds that can be split into twins—one with its own en-suite, the other with a house bathroom just next door. Outside, the private garden is just as impressive. Dine al fresco with the charcoal BBQ (in the style of the Big Green Egg), soak in the jacuzzi-style hot tub with sweeping valley views, or simply relax with a drink and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. A large paddock lies beyond the infinity-style wall, offering uninterrupted countryside views and plenty of space to roam. Families are very welcome at Shorthorn. Two travel cots and highchairs are provided free of charge, and the cottage is ideal for guests with reduced mobility, with ground-floor bedrooms and just one step down into the living areas. Dogs are welcome too (up to 2), though please note the garden isn’t fully enclosed. Extras include superfast Wi-Fi, luxury linens and towels, bathrobes, toiletries, a utility room with washer and dryer, and a locally sourced welcome hamper to start your stay in style. A kitchen, fire, and laundry starter pack are also provided, and charcoal can be pre-ordered for the BBQ or brought with you.
