Free parking 100 meters from the house. The space If you are looking for a cozy and comfortable house, in a quiet area and a few minutes from the beaches, Casetta da Francesca is the one for you. Recently renovated, it is located in one of the historic districts of Cuglieri, a small town on the central-western coast of Sardinia, in the province of Oristano. Not far from Piazza del Seminario and a 2-minute walk from the Basilica of Santa Maria della Neve, it is spread over two levels: on the ground floor, the open-plan dining room-kitchen, a bedroom with a wrought-iron bed of one and a half square meters (120x190 cm) and, next to the kitchen, a hallway opens that leads to the bathroom with a corner shower tray and where the washing machine with top loading is housed. Upstairs is the second bedroom with a French double bed (140x190 cm). The house is equipped with a pellet stove. THE PELLET FOR HEATING is the responsibility of the tenant. The nearest beaches can be reached in 15 minutes by car and are: Santa Caterina di Pittinnuri with its beautiful and suggestive bay and the inlet of Su Riu, a beautiful natural pool with emerald waters, S'Archittu and its beautiful natural rock arch carved by the force of the sea and the wind over the millennia and declared a natural monument, the cove of Torre del Pozzo and the beach of Is Arenas with its almost 7 kilometers of sand. Cuglieri is a great starting point for visiting the beautiful beaches of Sinis including the famous Is Arutas with its turquoise sea and the beach of colored quartz grains, Mari Ermi, Maimoni and San Giovanni di Sinis with the suggestive ruins of the ancient Phoenician-Punic city of Tharros, which can be visited all year round also with tourist packages that include admission to the Marongiu di Cabras civic museum where you can also admire the statues of the "Giants of Monte Prama". To the north, about 20 km away is Bosa, an enchanting village with multicolored houses that rises at the mouth of the Temo river and, continuing on State Road 292, in a succession of breathtaking views you arrive at the beautiful city of Alghero. The house is perfect for a holiday of two/three people at different times of the year, starting with Carnival because it is not far from Oristano where La Sartiglia, the race to the star, one of the oldest equestrian events that still take place in the Mediterranean area and one of the most spectacular and choreographic forms of Carnival in Sardinia, takes place in those days. During the Easter period, do not miss the ancient rites of Holy Week in Cuglieri, with the evocative procession of Good Friday. Spring and autumn are the best times for nature walks to discover the area, its forest and undergrowth and the waterfalls of S'Istrampu 'e Massabari and the most evocative waterfall of Cabu Nieddu that plunges into the sea with a drop of about 40 meters. In summer, in addition to seaside tourism, it is a period of festivals and events of popular tradition. It begins in May with "Open Monuments" when all the monuments of the area (the 11 churches including the Basilica of Santa Maria della Neve that dominates the town, the Seminary, the oil museum and the one that houses the finds of the ancient city of Cornus from the 6th century BC) are open and can be visited. On June 23, the night before the feast day of St. Giovanni Battista, the ancient rite of "S'abba muda" is renewed: the faithful go in silence from the church dedicated to the Saint to the springs of Tiu Memmere, divided into two rows that walk on the sides of the road because the center is reserved for the souls of the dead. Once at the fountain, they wash their hands and face and return, still in silence, to the church to touch the statue of the saint and break the vow of silence. In August, the "Mandigos in carrela" festivals to immerse yourself in the traditions, flavors and ancient crafts of the village, and "Panadas" dedicated to the queen of Cuglieritane gastronomic preparations.
