The Captain's Suite

Have fun with the whole family at this stylish place. Located only minutes from the Lunenburg waterfront and walking distance to Lightship Brewery and The Barn Cafe. This spacious second level 3 bedroom flat has everything you need to enjoy your stay in the Historic Town of Lunenburg, in Nova Scotia's beautiful South Shore. A fully equipped kitchen, nautical/boho decorated interior and private secluded patio make this the perfect home base to relax during your stay while you explore the area. The space Located near Lunenburg's sport facilities, golf course, grocery store, farmers market and across from the high school. Less than a 10 minutes walk from the downtown waterfront, restaurants and tourist attractions. This is a recently renovated and beautifully decorated 3 bedroom suite, located on the second floor of a 100+year old historic Lunenburg house. Named the Captains Suite after the hosts late grandfather, who was a well know captain of a scallop dragger in the town. He lived in the downstairs of this house which he restored in the 1990's. His grandson (your host) has now renovated and updated the suite with a nautical theme and welcomes you to stay and enjoy this space. This private suite has it's own separate entrance (FYI there is a large set of stairs to get to the entrance, so people with mobility issues may want to reconsider). Enjoy the surprisingly private and beautiful nature views through the large glass windows or while you sit out on the rear outdoor deck, which has a BBQ, plenty of patio furniture and dining space to enjoy spending time, relaxing, sun soaking and eating meals on. At night you can enjoy the propane fire pit while stargazing at the beautiful night sky. There is a large living and dinning room combo, with a dinning table to seat 6 people and tv with internet streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, and many live streaming shows. The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge/freezer, electric cooktop stove and oven, microwave and dishwasher. All cutlery, plates, glasses and cooking essentials are provided. There are 3 bedrooms: one with a king size bed, one with a queen size bed and one with a bunk bed that contains a twin mattress on the bottom and a single on the top. The bathroom has in-floor heating, a shower and large bathtub nook, perfect for soaking and relaxing in. The suite also has a washer and drier which you are able to use for laundry. There is parking on site for 2 vehicles and free street parking is available nearby if extra parking is required. During July and August there is also free street parking available directly in front of the house. We are sorry but we cannot allow pets at this suite. Please note that this is a second level suite. The ground-floor space is a completely separate dwelling, where your hosts and their family live. Your hosts will be available most days should you need any assistance. Due to this being a second-level suite, there is no yard space available and we ask quests to be mindful that there are people living below and ask to not host parties or be noisy after the designated quiet time of 10pm. Guest access The entire upper level of this 2-story house is yours to enjoy. It is a completely separate suite with a separate entrance. Other things to note Please check your Airbnb inbox messages for correspondence from us. We highly recommend downloading the Airbnb app so that you receive notifications and messages from your hosts. You will receive a message on the day of your arrival with check-in instructions and a code for the digital door lock for your suite. Cleaning is only provided between each guest. Although we do a deep clean, we ask that you please take care not to stain furniture or bedding and please do your dishes and/or load and start the dishwasher before leaving. Our cleaning service does not include washing dishes or kitchenware. There will be a $75cdn fee if we have to wash kitchenware and additional charges may apply for any damages to the unit, or for replacement costs of furniture or bedding due to stains that cannot be removed. Please be mindful of makeup stains on bedding, as these can be very challenging to remove. Garbage can be placed into the bins inside the house. Once a bin is full you can place the bag into the larger garbage bin located outside of the entrance door. Garbage removal service is on Thursday mornings. Someone may stop by Wednesday or Thursday morning to ask if you have any garbage which needs to be taken care of. Please separate recycling, and paper and cardboard items.
