Take a boat trip to the Farne Islands from Seahouses fishing harbour and cross the causeway to explore the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (13 miles). Explore England’s northernmost town of Berwick (13 miles), or head into the Scottish Borders, and spend a day at Alnwick Castle and Gardens (14 miles). These beautifully converted former stables on the outskirts of the village now provide an immaculate, well-equipped, single-storey holiday cottage that has been finished to an excellent standard and offers guests a truly comfortable stay. Enter the property via the boot/utility room, you can hang your outdoor clothing here and sit down to remove your walking boots. There is a useful sink to wash off any mud or sand collected after a day of exploring the area. Head down the hallway into the bright, airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with dual-aspect windows, skylights, exposed beams, and beautiful wood flooring. A glazed door leads from here to the patio garden. Relax on comfortable seating in front of the warming wood burner whilst watching a movie on the Smart TV or enjoy one of the books or games provided.
