This property is located in a very famous area, Chamberlin Street as it was here on Bloody Sunday, Father Edward Daly, a Catholic priest in Derry, Northern Ireland, exhibited immense bravery and compassion. As violence erupted during a civil rights march on January 30, 1972, Father Daly courageously entered the chaotic scene, where British soldiers fired on unarmed civilians. Amidst the turmoil, he risked his life to provide aid and comfort to the wounded and dying, even waving a white handkerchief as a symbol of truce and to tend to those injured. A powerful image captured him helping a young man, Jackie Duddy, who tragically died in his arms. Father Daly's actions on that fateful day symbolised the unwavering dedication and solidarity of clergy and civilians alike in the face of injustice and violence.
