Westerpark Countryside Cottage

Westerpark is a cosy self-catering cottage set on the Aswanley Estate, near Huntly, in the quiet Aberdeenshire countryside. Our traditional stone cottage is the perfect spot for groups of friends or families to relax and spend time together, sleeping up to six guests. There are beautiful local walks to explore right from the doorstep before spending the evening in front of the cosy open fire. The Aswanley wedding venue is nearby, making Westerpark a popular choice for wedding parties. The space Westerpark is a traditional stone cottage which has been beautifully renovated throughout. The cottage features a large kitchen with dining table to seat up to 8 people, perfect for eating together as a group. There is an Aga plus a conventional oven and hob for cooking, along with a dishwasher and all necessary amenities for cooking during your stay. The cosy living room has comfortable seating, a TV, board games, and a cosy open fire with logs provided - a favourite spot of our guests to relax at the end of the day! In the large Boot Room, situated by the back door, there is a washing machine, airing cupboard and plenty of storage for shoes and jackets. There are three bedrooms at Westerpark, all with en-suite bathrooms with electric showers. Downstairs, a spacious twin room overlooks the peaceful landscape to the rear of the cottage. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a superking bed, which can be split into two single beds should you require an alternative set-up. The second upstairs bedroom has a comfortable bed with beautiful views overlooking the surrounding fields. Both bedrooms upstairs have dressing tables by the windows facing the front of the property with lots of natural light, along with plenty of hanging space for unpacking items during your stay. Westerpark is located close to the Aswanley wedding venue, and is a popular choice for bridal parties and wedding guests. The cottage is beautifully decorated throughout with elegant warm grey and neutral colours to serve as a stunning backdrop for preparation photographs on the big day. The large dining table can double as a temporary make up studio in the kitchen, which is flooded with natural light, while the exterior of the cottage is well presented and the adjacent courtyard area has beautiful, rustic characteristics for photography. Guest access The entire cottage is available for guests to use. There is an extensive garden with outdoor seating for guests to use during their stay. Westerpark is surrounded by large lawn areas, perfect for garden games, along with woodland to explore and a burn with a rope swing right next to the cottage. Other things to note Westerpark is located on the Aswanley Estate in the centre of Aberdeenshire, with local distilleries, Scottish castles, beautiful local walking and mountain biking routes just a short trip from the cottage. Shops, supermarkets and amenities are available in the nearby town of Huntly.
