Luxury 4-person holiday home in a cute village with all amenities. Access to a large and sunny garden with many fruit trees, ornamental plants and flowers. On the mountain bordering the Rio Zêzere, the famous Cabril dam and the popular river beaches. The house is 78 m2, consists of a living-dining room, spacious kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms and an office with 2 dedicated workplaces. Peace, nature, hiking, fishing, adventure, breath-taking views or sun and river beaches, all can be found here! The space General The accommodation is suitable for four people (plus a baby) and is fully equipped. The house is 78 m2, consists of a living-dining room, spacious kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms, an office with two workplaces and a beautiful garden with a view over the village. If you are traveling with small children, we can place a extra baby cot and a high chair in your accommodation free of charge. For a small fee you can also use a high quality “Mountain Stroller” for the entire holiday. For our guests with pets, we have thought about drinking and feeding bowls, a dog basket and a blanket for the couch. Your house is rented with 1 large towel and 1 small towel per person and of course clean and made bed linen is included without a surcharge. Extra pillows are available. For your comfort you can find AC’s in the living room and in every bedroom. You have access to a stable 100 Mbps fiber optic Wi-Fi connection throughout the house and the garden. Public parking spaces can be found directly in front of your cottage. Living Room The living room is equipped with air conditioning and has a comfortable lounge sofa with lying area (chaise longue), LG 4K smart TV and Kenwood stereo system. There is no TV cable connection, but you have free access to the apps HBO Max, Disney, Prime, UFC and you have the option to log in to almost any streaming service you can think of. The streaming services can change over time. You can also connect any device via Wi-Fi with smart share on the TV, so you can watch any channel you have access to. The TV has an extra HDMI cable connected to it so you can easily connect your computer. It’s also possible to connect a hard drive. The stereo is a high quality Kenwood set, which you can connect to your device via Bluetooth, USB or an normal audio cable. The dining table is next to the window and there is enough space for four people and a high chair for a baby. In the TV cabinet you can find an extra UTP and HDMI cable. Master Bedroom The master bedroom has a king-size bed (180 x 200) with a high-quality mattress, which is made upon arrival. We’ve chosen an intimate and luxurious theme. There is plenty of storage space, both a wardrobe and drawer cabinet and drawers under the bed. The room can be darkened by closing the shutters and/or curtains. There is also room for a cot, which we can add to your stay for free if you celebrate your holiday with a baby. Bedroom | Children's room The second bedroom has a bunk bed, is ideal for children and equipped with two good mattresses. There are toys available such as Duplo and a wooden train track, but also (family) games and reading books. The room can be darkened by closing the shutters and/or the curtains and have a space theme that glows in the dark. The bunk bed and mattresses are also suitable for two adults. Office with dedicated workspaces We have set up an office with dedicated workplaces especially for guests who also want to work during the holidays. This room has two height-adjustable desks and office chairs, one monitor and laptop stand, provided with plenty of sockets. The monitor has an HDMI cable. If your laptop or computer only has a DataPort connection, it is located in the cabinet next to the desk for your convenience. Bathroom The bathroom is beautifully finished and is complete with sink, shower, toilet and bidet. There is plenty of space to put your towels and your own toiletries and a power socket. We provide hand soap, hair dryer, towel package and behind the door you will find a laundry rack. We also have an ironing board and iron in the house for our guests. Kitchen The spacious and typical Portuguese kitchen with a countertop of beautiful natural stone is fully equipped. There is a refrigerator with a separate, spacious freezer compartment and an electric 4-burner stove with oven. Besides the microwave, there’s also a filter coffee maker, milk frother, kettle, citrus press, mixer, toaster, dishwasher and washing machine. All necessities have been taken into account, there is also more than enough cutlery, crockery and other equipment needed. From the kitchen you have a view of and access to the garden. The beautiful flower and fruit-rich garden The garden has a moving history, which we would like to share with you. A Portuguese widower created this garden as a tribute to his late wife and his childhood sweetheart, with whom he was reunited at the age of 83. It is literally a garden of love, Jardim do Amor, and besides the surroundings, the main reason why we fell in love with this house. Both the front door and the back door in the kitchen provide access to the spacious (700m2) garden. The entire garden is enclosed with a fence and tiled around the house and can be closed for the little ones. The terrace has an outdoor kitchen with barbecue, canopy and a lounge area with dining table and chairs. We have placed a hammock under the orange tree to doze off in the garden. There are swings and various toys for the children to play with. You can also find clotheslines to dry your laundry. The rest of the garden runs uphill via terraces and flowerbeds. There are beautiful flowers and many fruit trees throughout the garden. Such as various orange, lemon and fig trees. During your stay you can pick the ripe fruit from these trees for your own consumption. The oranges from the two large trees are especially delicious for making juice. From the top of the garden you have a beautiful view over the village. The place to watch the sunset between the wonderful scents of the garden. There are several benches to enjoy this to the fullest. We hope that you will enjoy the garden as much as we do. We would therefore like to ask you to treat our garden and plants with respect. We kindly ask you to only allow small children and pets in the garden under your supervision, also for safety reasons. Guest access Your accommodation is located in the village of Pedrógão Pequeno in the middle of a mountain bordering the Rio Zézere. It is one of the largest rivers in Portugal and an important attraction for domestic tourism with several river beaches. Within walking distance you can reach the top of the mountain with a panoramic view of the surroundings. The view extends over the Rio Zézere, the Cabril Dam and Ponte Pedrógão, among others, and is truly breath-taking. In the village there is a small supermarket, gas station, a bar and a restaurant with the best chicken in this region. You will also find a shop here with local delicacies and souvenirs. Every Sunday morning there is a market in the Mercado where you can buy vegetables, fruit, cheese, meat, fish and delicious bread from local producers. Every Monday there is a market in the neighbouring Pedrógão Grande with even more products and stalls. Every morning the village baker drives past your accommodation and delivers delicious fresh bread if you hang the bread bag outside. Instructions for this are clearly stated in the information folder. When you book Casa Rio Zézere the whole house including the garden and all amenities are accessible without limitations. Please don't let small children and pets unsupervised in the garden for their own safety. A small room in the back of the kitchen and the garden outhouse is locked, but the spaces as advertised are completely free to use for your convenience. There is public parking access on the street in front of your cottage. For bigger vehicles it might be wiser to park on top near the garden top gate. More information will be send to you a few days before check in including a clear map. As a result, there are many historic buildings and churches and it is very nice and relaxing to walk through the old centre. Pedrógão Pequeno borders the larger village of Pedrógão Grande where all other amenities can be found. Here you will experience the tranquillity of a village, but the jazz can be found in vibrant Sertã, a 10-minute drive from your accommodation. There are large playgrounds for children in both Pedrógão Grande and Sertã. The accommodation is located in a hilly area, which means it is not always suitable for people who are less mobile or have less stamina. There are various walking routes from your accommodation. Such as the viewpoint at the top of the mountain, the Cabril Dam, river beaches or Ponte Filipina, a bridge over the Rio Zézere that was built around 1600. You will also find Trilhos Do Zézere within a one-minute walk. This is a provider of adventure excursions, jeep, buggy, ziplining, boat trips, canoeing, it's all within easy reach and a household name in the area. See you in Pedrógão Pequeno!
