Description
Captain's Cottage is a charming 18th century mid-terrace cottage on Quay Street in Minehead, just across the road from the beach and close to the harbour. Full of period character, it retains a lovely inglenook fireplace with log burner, beamed ceilings and low doorways, while offering everything needed for a comfortable stay. The space The cottage sleeps up to four guests in two double bedrooms, both enjoying sea views, served by a family bathroom with bath and separate shower. A hallway runs the length of the ground floor, with a cosy sitting room to one side featuring the inglenook fireplace and television with Freesat, and a modern kitchen and dining area to the other. The kitchen is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge, separate freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster, plus a good supply of cookware and crockery. A ground floor cloakroom with toilet and hand basin is accessed externally. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with an iron, ironing board and hairdryer, and Wi-Fi, heating and electricity are included throughout. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided on arrival, along with basic cleaning supplies. Outside, a rear kitchen door leads to two separate terraces, the highest offering lovely sea views over the rooftops, with seating to relax and unwind. There is no grass garden, though a grassy area can be found across the road. The terraces are reached via steep stone steps, some without handrails, so this area is best supervised for children and may not suit those with walking difficulties. Due to its age and character, the cottage as a whole is not considered suitable for anyone with limited mobility, with steps down to the front door and a curved internal staircase. On-street pay-and-display parking is available nearby on Quay Street, with a permit provided for one car for the duration of your stay. Guest access The modern kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, slimline dishwasher, and under-counter fridge and separate freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a good supply of cookware, crockery, glasses, cutlery and utensils to self-cater. There is a an inglenook fireplace in the sitting room with a log burner. If using the log burner please use the gloves provided. Keep door shut at all times. Please be very careful as the burner gets extremely hot. If you decide to use the log burner, please clean thoroughly ready for the next guest to use. The sitting room has a television with Freesat, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the property at no extra cost. Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Captain's Cottage has central heating fitted throughout the property. An iron and ironing board, and hairdryer are all provided for your convenience. Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you outside of the cottage. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided.
