Captain's Cottage is a characterful 18th century mid-terrace cottage set on Quay Street in Minehead, just across the road from the beach and close to the harbour. Full of period charm, the cottage retains a large inglenook fireplace with log burner, beamed ceilings, and doorways of limited height in places, while offering a comfortable and well-equipped base for up to 4 guests. The space The ground floor comprises a cosy sitting room with the inglenook fireplace, log burner and television with Freesat, plus a modern kitchen and dining area equipped with electric oven and hob, slimline dishwasher, under-counter fridge, separate freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. A ground floor cloakroom with toilet and hand basin is accessed externally. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, both enjoying sea views, and a family bathroom with bath, separate shower unit, toilet and hand basin. Outside, a rear kitchen door leads to two separate terraces, the higher of which enjoys lovely rooftop and sea views, with seating to relax. These are accessed via steep stone steps, some without handrails, so the space is best suited to confident, supervised guests rather than anyone with limited mobility or unsupervised children. There is no grass garden, though a grassy area is available across the road. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with an iron, ironing board and hairdryer. Wi-Fi, heating and electricity are all included, and welcome essentials such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are supplied. On-street pay-and-display parking is available on Quay Street within five metres of the property, with a permit provided for one car for the duration of the stay; a second car would need to pay and display separately. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome at a supplement of GBP 20 per dog, per stay, though dogs must not go upstairs or on the furniture, and should not be left unattended. Guest access The modern kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, slimline dishwasher, and under-counter fridge and separate freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a good supply of cookware, crockery, glasses, cutlery and utensils to self-cater. There is a an inglenook fireplace in the sitting room with a log burner. If using the log burner please use the gloves provided. Keep door shut at all times. Please be very careful as the burner gets extremely hot. If you decide to use the log burner, please clean thoroughly ready for the next guest to use. The sitting room has a television with Freesat, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the property at no extra cost. Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Captain's Cottage has central heating fitted throughout the property. An iron and ironing board, and hairdryer are all provided for your convenience. Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you outside of the cottage. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided.
