Welcome to Deerwood Cabin! Experience Muskoka in our warm and rustic cottage with two beautiful A-frame bunkies. This dog friendly property is 1.5 acres and is surrounded by trees that will give you a sense of privacy while feeling immersed in nature. With over 200 feet of waterfront, you will be able to enjoy the lake as you please with a dock and a sandy beach. Located roughly 25 minutes from Huntsville. The space This cottage is located roughly 25 minutes from Huntsville, where you will find many restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and all the amenities you may require during your stay. Also, nearby are several parks (Algonquin, Arrowhead, and Limberlost) which have opportunities for day trips such as hiking and canoeing. This property is the perfect getaway or quiet retreat for couples, families, or singles. This space is not suitable for parties, events, loud music, or fireworks. The main cottage consists of the spacious master bedroom with king sized Endy mattress and a second bedroom with twin bunk beds. The main living room overlooks the lake and is shared with the kitchen. This is a great space to be while socializing and preparing food, playing board games or watching Netflix on the smart TV. We have recently upgraded to Starlink internet.   There is an additional beautiful sitting room with large windows overlooking the property with a wood burning stove.  This room is connected to the other living room and is the perfect spot to curl up and read a book on the cozy chaise sofa. This room also has a dining table with seating for 6. The original cottage-style kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meals. Our tap water comes from a private well and is filtered with a UV system and is drinkable throughout the cottage. Please note that the kitchen does not have a dishwasher. There is also a complimentary coffee bar with a Nespresso machine and pods, a variety of teas, a French press with fresh ground coffee, as well as raw sugar. On the lakeside deck there is a dining table and chairs to enjoy outdoor meals as well as a BBQ. There are also two additional cathedral A-frame bunkies for sleeping (available May – October) that have Endy queen beds in each.  Each A-frame has its own seating area.  Both A-frames have baseboard heating for the cooler months and electricity with lights and outlets for charging devices. There is no bathroom in this area, although it is just a few steps from the main cottage.   Please note, we do not have air conditioning, however there are ceiling and floor fans throughout. We provide all bed linens, bath and beach towels. There are NO additional fees for bringing dogs along, but please let us know they are coming so we can prepare :) There are two large black dog towels laundered for each new furry guest and hung at the front and back entry.   Please make sure your dog is clean before venturing inside to prevent stains and/or damage to bedding and furniture. As a courtesy, please make sure your dog does not venture onto our neighbors' property as there are no fences. Picking up dog poo is an expectation, including in the forest.   Guest access Guests have access to the entire property during their stay, except for owner locked hall closet, sheds, and storage container. The motor boat is not available for guest use. Other things to note Additional Guidelines: - Absolutely NO SMOKING! (This includes vaping and marijuana) inside any building. Please smoke at least 10 feet away from all buildings and dispose of your butts in appropriate receptacles provided. - Maximum 6 guests, please keep in mind there is only 1 washroom in the main cottage Security cameras on property to ensure guest adhere to the strict per max occupancy. This includes those trying to bring “daytime guests”. 6 person maximum for each stay - no guest substitution - From November to May only the main cabin is available (4 guest max) - We are on septic, only toilet paper can go down the toilet (please dispose of baby wipes, Kleenex, tampons, sanitary napkins, and face wipes in the trash) - Please do not pour oils/grease or fats down the sink, there is a labelled tin under the kitchen sink to dispose of this - Please bag your garbage and recycling separately (as outlined in detail in the welcome package) and at the end of your stay place them securely in the outdoor storage - we will take them to the dump (YAY! No dump run for you:) - We love all dogs but only those that are house trained (not pee pad) trained are welcome - we apologize but inside bathroom breaks will ruin our hardwood floors - Please do not use the white bath towels outside, separate beach towels are provided - Please do not move around the indoor furniture - No shoes inside please - Please respect our neighbors, absolutely no parties or loud noises, sound travels on the water - Be kind to our wildlife - Guest are asked to leave the place as they found it, this includes doing the dishes, cleaning up after your pets, ensuring the place is as tidy as you found it, and used towels hung on hooks - Bedding can be left on the beds
