Cozy, quiet detached gite for 1-6 people with private garden, patio and covered parking. Smart TV and soundbar. Carnoët is located in the green heart of Brittany (Côtes d'Armor) with many hiking and cycling routes. Ideal for day trips. Within walking distance of 'La Vallée des Saints' (around 200 sculptures!) and a 15-minute drive from various restaurants and supermarkets (in Carhaix and Callac). The space Cozy and fully equipped 3 bedroom gîte/cottage for 1 to up to 6 persons. There are two bedrooms upstairs (with Velux skylights and insect screens) One bedroom has a double bed, and the other bedroom has two single beds. The downstairs bedroom, adjacent to the bathroom (with shower, toilet and washbasin), has a super king-size bed and a double-glazed window with a screen. Bed linen and towels are included! The gîte is located on an almost dead end road and therefore you can enjoy a lot of peace and hardly any car traffic here. We, the property owners, live on the same property and are – if any – always available for any questions, help or tips about the area. Our house is more than 40 meters away and is not visible from the gîte, so you have plenty of privacy. You can park at your accommodation in our large covered barn. Electric vehicles can be charged at the mairie (5min walk) You have a private garden and a terrace with a dining table and 6 chairs. There are also two sun loungers and deck chairs with a parasol. Guests are also welcome to stroll through our large park garden. A small stream flows here and you can hear birds everywhere. On clear evenings, the starry sky here is impressive – especially download a star app, because you can see thousands of stars. The living room features a large U-shaped sofa for five people and two comfortable chairs. There is a smartTV with, among other things, Netflix and YouTube. In the gîte there is Wi-Fi (fiber optic) and there is a sound bar on which you can play your own Spotify playlists. The open kitchen is fully furnished and includes a dishwasher, oven, microwave and fridge. There is a cosy wood-burning stove in the living room, including (!) wood. In addition, additional heat sources are available. The washing machine is in the front shed by the road. You can wash your clothes free of charge on request. There is a drying rack available and a dryer can also be used in the winter months. The village of Carnoët (department Côtes d'Armor) is located in the green heart of Brittany and is an ideal base for day trips to many attractions in the region. TIPS: Within walking distance is the Vallée des Saints (Valley of the Saints). Since 2008, sculptors have been working here on an impressive collection of granite statues of Breton saints. The statues are about 4 meters high and are on a hill with beautiful views over the valley. New footage is added every year. From June to September, you can often see the sculptors at work here. About 40 minutes away by car is the large Lac de Guerlédan, with several beaches, banks and water sports centers where you can kayak, sail or water ski. The area is also very popular with hikers. The nearest coast is approx. 45min drive (37km). Here you will find several beaches, such as Plage du Moulin de la Rive, a quiet sandy beach with free parking and picnic tables. The beach of Loquirec is also beautiful with white sand. (Plage Sables blanches) Of course, there are many more beautiful beaches in the area! For fun day trips, you can consider cities and places such as Quimper, Concarneau, Saint‑Malo, Vannes, Morlaix, Ploumanac'h (the famous pink granite coast, a MUST SEE!), Lorient and Roscoff. Do you have electric bicycles with you? Then you are perfect here. The Breton hilly landscape is beautiful for exploring, both cycling and walking. The quiet village of Carnoët is about a 4-minute walk away and features a pancake restaurant and a small supermarket with basic products, fresh baguette, fruit and vegetables. On Mondays, from 5 pm, there is a small local market with bread, eggs, vegetables and alcoholic beverages. In the village near the mairie (about 5 minutes walk) is also a charging point for electric cars. The towns of Carhaix and Callac are about a 15-minute drive away. Here you will find plenty of shops and large supermarkets. Every July, Carhaix hosts one of Europe's biggest music festivals: Les Vieilles Charrues, with many international artists. Some restaurants we like to visit ourselves: In Carhaix: Pizzeria La Scala and Restaurant La Rotonde (reservations recommended). In Callac: Café de la Place, with delicious three-course menus for around €20. During the day, it is also cozy at Rendez‑Vous Café Fredonia for homemade pastries and Colombian coffee. In Callac there is a large fruit and vegetablemarket every Wednesday morning. And the local boulangerie has many delights! Guest access Unfortunately, the cottage is not suitable for wheelchairs due to the threshold at the front door and stairs to the first (bedroom) floor. Other things to note Charging point for electric cars within 5 minutes' walking distance at the town hall. We respect your privacy and expect the same from you. We do not charge any additional cleaning fees. However, we kindly ask you to leave the gite reasonably clean and tidy upon departure, for which we thank you very much.
