The space The Old School is a charming stone and tiled country cottage which used to be the village school. Retaining many of the original features like the school bell, vaulted kitchen/dining room, Gothic arched doors and mullion windows, this luxury holiday cottage has been sympathetically refurbished to a high standard. On the ground floor the well-appointed accommodation includes an open-plan kitchen and dining room complete with feature Aga, and a cosy sitting room with wood burning stove, plus a single bedroom with additional pull-out bed, a wet room and a utility room. On the first floor you will find the two comfortable bedrooms with garden views, and the large family bathroom. Sitting on a quiet lane overlooking open countryside, and with a fully-enclosed walled garden including a small pond, The Old School is ideally situated for exploring West Dorset, South Somerset, and the stunning countryside and numerous quaint villages all around. There is a Loggia open on two sides under a tiled roof with timber decking, offering the ideal space for relaxing and enjoying views across the garden, or a spot of alfresco dining. Nearby, there are plenty of places to visit, including the market towns of Crewkerne, Beaminster and Bridport, a selection of great country houses and gardens, and several of Dorset's famous hill forts including Lewesdon and Pilsdon Pen. Additional Information: A sixth guest can be accommodated by using the pull-out bed in the ground floor bedroom. Please request when making your booking. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome to be kept to the ground floor and garden please (small additional charge). Walled, fully enclosed garden including a pond - parents, please ensure children are supervised at all times. A travel cot, stair gate and high chair are available on request. Bedroom three With 3' single bed and pull out zip and link 3' bed which can be converted to 6' super-king size bed or twin single (please request at time of booking). Wet room Walk-in with shower, wash basin and WC. First Floor: Bedroom one With twin 3' single beds (can convert to a 6' super-king size on request), plasma television. Bedroom two With twin 3' single beds (can convert to a 6' super-king size on request). Family bathroom With double ended bath and power shower, wash basin and WC. Outside: Walled, fully enclosed garden including a pond (children to be supervised), garden furniture and barbecue. Another wonderful feature in the garden is the timber decked loggia, complete with power and lighting. Utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer. Parking for four cars.
