Things to Note : No Dishwasher or Central AC The property does not have central Air. We do have a portable unit on site. We do provide fans for each room as well. You may find ant traps in the kitchen as we are in a rural location. There is a quarry at the top of the road, you may hear trucks passing by during regular business hours. We recommend sleeping with the fan on if you feel the cars may be an issue for you, this drowns out the noise if they do go by in the night/early morning. FISHING FRIENDLY - We are happy to host longer stays during the Cheticamp Fishing Season as we are located just 10mins from the docks. Our property has room for parking and traps. Originally the farmhouse that housed the family who farmed the surrounding land. It was later used as a schoolhouse when the local school burnt down. The teacher resided here and ended up teaching all the students in her home. The trees on the property are planted by those very children. You may also hear it referred to as 'the bootleggers house' where people gathered to drink when bootlegging was popular. Guest access The entire property is yours to enjoy while your visiting. We have a large front porch with outdoor dining table as well as a side porch with seating area and fire pit for those late summer nights. The property features a little babbling brook and has wild mint growing throughout that you can smell when the wind blows. We encourage people to pick it and use it in teas or recipes but please do so responsibly. We do not live on site, however we are close with all our neighbours.
