There are wonderful walks from the doorstep around the Estate, or the Coast to Coast path that runs alongside it. Located just six miles from the popular fishing town of Whitby, this hideaway is also just a short walk from the picturesque Egton Railway Station. Comfortably sleeping up to four guests, this chocolate box cottage is grade II listed. Set beneath the Estates canopy of ancient trees featuring an extensive garden, wood burning stove and two delightful bedrooms each with their own en-suite. Guests will instantly feel at home from the moment they step foot into the open-plan dining and sitting room with sumptuous seating flanking the wood burning stove. The stairs at one end of the cottage lead to the king-size master bedroom, where the en-suite bathroom with amazing free-standing bath overlooking the gardens to the rear will utterly spoil guests. The second bedroom situated to the other end of the cottage hosts a twin beds (can be converted to a super king size bed on request) and en-suite shower room. For those who enjoy cooking while on holiday, the well-equipped kitchen has all you need to show off cookery skills and spoil family and friends with a good hearty breakfast before your next adventure, or an impressive feast after a day exploring. Alternatively, for ultimate relaxation leave it to someone else, as just a five-minute walk away the Horseshoe Hotel hosts a outdoor beer garden and barbecue area, and there is a farm shop selling local produce. You can pack up a picnic on a fine day and head to one of many wide sandy beaches from Staithes to Robin Hood's Bay. There is something for everyone to enjoy in this idyllic location near to the North York Moors. Enjoy fly fishing along the river Esk (which needs to be pre-booked at ). Spend the day exploring the coast or head in land to discover many of the sought-after villages nearby such as Hutton-le-Hole or Helmsley. Harry Potter enthusiasts will love a trip to Pickering to catch the famous steam train on the NYMR. Additional Information An initial good supply of logs is provided. Two well-behaved dog welcome (small additional charge). Children and infants welcome. A travel cot, stair gate and high chair are available on request. Please bring you own linen for the travel cot. Due to the nature and age of the property, there are various steps and levels to the cottage. Guest access Ground Floor: There are steps throughout. Hallway leading to Sitting and dining area With comfortable seating, a wood burning stove, Smart television and dining area with table and four chairs. Steps leading down to Lower ground floor: Kitchen With electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and feature Rayburn. First floor: Step from the dining area leading to Master bedroom With 5' king-size bed, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. En-suite bathroom With free-standing roll-top bath and handheld shower attachment, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail. Steps from the kitchen leading to Bedroom two With 3' twin beds (can be configured as a 6' super-king size bed on request), built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers and double aspect garden views. En-suite shower room With shower, WC, heated towel rail and wash basin. Outside: Pretty south and north facing gardens both at the front and rear of the cottage with outside seating area next to the cottage entrance with garden table and four chairs. Private parking for two cars.
