Take a few steps up from street level and the lift from the entrance hall and you’ll reach an apartment that exudes elegance and homely luxury in every room, and features not one but two balconies. Your front door opens into a large hallway from where you can access the other rooms in the apartment. Immediately to your right is: THE LIVING ROOM A decorative fireplace with a flat screen television mounted above the mantelpiece provides the focus for this relaxing reception room. The space benefits from large windows that bathe the quality furnishings and flooring in natural light during the day, while in the evenings, you have a choice of lamps to get the ambience just as you like it. THE BEDROOMS Accessed from the main hall via a couple of steps is the first of the two bedrooms. You’re sure to be drawn to the patio doors at the far end which open out onto the first of the apartment’s two balconies, this one featuring a table and chairs and bench-style seating. It offers a great vantage point from which you can relax and look out over the rooftops of London any time of day. But there’s more to delight in this room, not least the beautifully presented double bed and the ensuite shower room with its walk-in cubicle, WC and wash basin. The second bedroom is next to the first, and although there’s no ensuite, there is another gloriously comfortable bed to enjoy and patio doors that open out onto the second balcony. Royal Marsden Hospital (0.5m) Royal Brompton Hospital (0.7m) If you are working at either of these hospitals, or perhaps want to stay close to someone who’s having treatment there, you won’t have far to travel if you stay here. King’s Road Great for browsing boutique stores or people watching from coffee shops and classy eateries, this iconic road is about half a mile from the apartment. Natural History Museum Science Museum Victoria and Albert Museum We’ve grouped these popular attractions together, because they’re all based in the same area of London just over half a mile away Royal Hospital Chelsea Every spring, the grounds of this hospital play host to the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show. If you’re visiting or showing at the event, staying here is a good option as it’s only 1.6 miles away Royal Albert Hall The venue is just under a mile from the apartment, so if you have tickets for a performance, it won’t take long for you to reach your seats. Harrods You’re unlikely to stay in the area and not be tempted to visit London’s most famous department store, just 1.1 miles away in a taxi. GETTING AROUND With so much within an easily walkable distance from the apartment, you may well find that you don’t need to use public transport or taxis during your stay. But if you are planning to venture further afield or explore more of London, it’s good to know that you are well served by transport options. South Kensington tube station is a mere 0.4 miles from the house, and is served by Piccadilly, Circle and District Line trains. Those lines bring big transport hubs at Paddington, Heathrow Airport and Victoria within easy reach. Gloucester Road London Underground station is also around half a mile from the apartment. The area around your home is well served by local bus services that will take you all over the capital, and you can always hire an Uber or hail a black taxi if you want to get around London in a car.
