Smiddy Cottage, Hawkridge

Smiddy Cottage is set apart from the other three holiday cottages at the farm, sleeping up to 4 guests across two bedrooms with one bathroom. The entrance door opens straight into an open-plan living and dining area with a wood-burner, dining table and chairs, comfortable seating and a well-equipped kitchen including electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The space One ground floor bedroom offers twin beds that can be made up as a super-king on request, and the bathroom (with jack-and-jill access from both bedroom and living area) has a shower, separate bath, toilet and hand basin. A spiral staircase leads up to a galleried mezzanine level overlooking the living area, with a double bed. Bed linen and towels are provided, and a smart TV is available in the living area. Wifi is included, along with GBP 20 towards heating and electricity, ample for a week-long stay. A basket of logs, kindling and matches are provided for the wood-burner during cooler months. Guests have access to a communal washing machine and dryer in an external laundry room shared with the other three cottages. A cot, high chair and stair gate can be provided on request. Outside, the cottage has its own private patio area with a picnic bench and BBQ, plus a large private garden for guests' sole use. A children's play area with climbing frame, wendy house and picnic table is available within the grounds. Parking for two cars is available on the drive beside the cottage. Dogs are welcome, up to two per booking, for a supplement of GBP 20 per dog. Horses can also be accommodated, with a block of four DIY stables and a 2.5-acre paddock available for turnout, charged at GBP 40 per horse per stay. The property is suitable for children but is not suitable for guests with restricted mobility or wheelchair users. A special Christmas stay on Exmoor awaits, with local markets, welcoming pubs and warm hospitality nearby.
