Welcome to Waterside Cottage, hosted by Guested UK. A peaceful waterside escape in Flushing, just minutes from Falmouth. Set only 6 metres from the water, this stylish Edwardian home offers calm village living with effortless access to town. Drive to Falmouth in 10 minutes, take the direct bus from outside the front door or a 2 minute walk to Flushing Quay and a 10 minute ferry ride across the harbour (every 30 minutes, year-round). The perfect Cornish base scenic and brilliantly connected. The space Waterside Cottage is arranged over three floors and offers light, comfortable accommodation throughout. The ground floor features an open-plan living and dining area with a log burner, a well-equipped kitchen, utility room and a downstairs WC. The first floor includes a kingsize bedroom, a twin bedroom and a family bathroom. The top floor offers a further kingsize bedroom with en-suite and wonderful harbour views towards Falmouth. Please be advised that the second flight of stairs leading up to the top floor is steep and may be unsuitable for some. As the cottage sits right in the heart of the village, there is a bus stop just outside the front of the property, something that has long been part of village life in Flushing. From time to time, particularly in the mornings, you may hear occasional chatter from the nearby bus stop or passing buses, as the cottage sits in the heart of this friendly village community. Outdoor space – To the rear of the property is a private, decked courtyard with an outdoor dining table, ideal for relaxed meals and evening drinks. The courtyard can be accessed via a rear gate. Facilities – The property has central heating and instant hot water. The kitchen includes double electric ovens, hob, dishwasher, full-size fridge, Nespresso-compatible coffee machine and Nutribullet. The utility room has a washing machine, freezer, microwave and juice extractor. Guests can also enjoy fast WiFi, a BOSE music system and a smart TV with Amazon Fire Stick. Board games and puzzles are provided. Kayaks – Two kayaks are available for guest use and are stored in the rear garden. Life jackets and oars are provided. Family friendly – A travel cot, highchair, baby bath and changing mat are available. Indoor and outdoor clothes dryers, along with an iron and ironing board, are also provided. Parking – On-street parking is available directly opposite the property on the road leading down to the house. Getting around – Getting to Falmouth couldn’t be easier. 🚗 10 minutes’ drive to Falmouth 🚌 15 minutes by direct bus (stop right outside the front door) ⛴️ 2-minute walk to Flushing Quay, then a 10-minute ferry crossing. Ferries run every 30 minutes, year-round. Many guests say the ferry is their favourite way to travel, gliding across the harbour straight into Falmouth, avoiding traffic and parking altogether. It’s the perfect base for a relaxing Cornish holiday, close to the action when you want it, peaceful when you don’t. For something extra special, the Falmouth Water Taxi is also available for private journeys across the harbour. Local area – Flushing offers several excellent places to eat and drink, including Harbour House, The Royal Standard and Waterside Restaurant, along with a village shop just around the corner. Guest access Guests will have exclusive access to the entire property and private courtyard. Other things to note We leave one key in the lockbox and a useful second in the long basket on the shelf by the kitchen.
