Guest access You have access to the all house. Other things to note Jaibalito is a charming and authentic village located on the shores of the Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. Unlike other villages, Jaibalito is not accessible by road, which adds to its quaintness and makes it a less touristy destination. To reach Jaibalito, take a boat from Calle del Embarcadero in Panajachel. There is a guarded parking lot at the marina where you can park your car. The kitchen is well-equipped, and most essentials can be found in the village at Posada Jaibalito or its market, which is open from 8 am to 4 pm. There are also five restaurants in town that offer a variety of food, and all of them offer take away. However, it's essential to note that there is no ATM in the village, ( there is ATM in Panajachel, San Pedro, San Marcos, Santa Cruz) and most places do not accept cards, so make sure to bring enough cash. We recommend visiting Las Torres supermarket in Panajachel to stock up on essentials. While the beaches on the east shore of the lake are public and accessible, it's essential to note that Jaibalito, like most of Guatemala, can be noisy and dirty. Life here is intertwined with the sounds of churches, dogs, and roosters, and sometimes, weddings and special events take place late at night, so earplugs are advisable for light sleepers. Additionally, power outages are common in Jaibalito, and it's best not to overstock the fridge. The two rooms upstairs are located next to each other, and there isn't much noise privacy between them. Guests should also be aware that Jaibalito is situated in the subtropical jungle, and there are insects such as harmless spiders and scorpions in the area. To avoid most insects, it's best not to leave food out, turn off the outside light, and close the doors at night.
