Solitude & Brighton Ski Cabin

Tucked on a quiet mountain road, walking distance to Silverfork Lodge. Relax in our beautiful mountain cabin equipped with full modern functionality. Modern technology, 8 person salt water hotub, WiFi, new Bathroom, stainless appliances. Small but dreamy getaway. The sweet scent of forest evergreens will soothe your soul. The space Cozy SMALL mountain cabin, extensively remodeled, ready to relax and enjoy the mountain life. 1 small bedroom downstairs with King size bed 🛌 , upstairs is an open loft listed as a bedroom with a Queen size bed 🛌 and 2 twin beds with options for sleeping cots 🛌 Guest access The entire cabin is available. Other things to note APPLE MAPS IS WRONG!!!! Aaaaaaah Please don’t knock on Russ’s door!!!!!! Don’t drive into Russ’s Driveway either! Or he will flip the F out !! Make sure you are at the cabin that matches the Airbnb!! DO NOT BACK INTO RUSS’s DRIVEWAY TO TURN AROUND!! He will lose it and call me. Our cabin is the steep green metal roofed cabin on the INSIDE of the street corner. We strive to meet expectations. Our NEIGHBORS HATE RENTERS!!! Our cabin is small, but clean and cozy. More than 7 people is simply not allowed for the enjoyment of all. It is a QUIET tranquil neighborhood and the direct adjacent neighbors are retired full time residents. They (mostly Russ) are accustomed to the QUIET. There is a definitive local population that HATES AIRBNB AND ALL AIRBNB RENTERS… I wish I did not have to say this, but in our experience, we have to very specifically request NO LOUD MUSIC, keep conversation polite, super quiet, especially outside. I cannot emphasize this enough.. disturbing the peace of the neighborhood by loud conversation from the hottub will result in a phone call to the police by the neighbors. Please be respectful of the neighbors, do not disturb them with any loud late night activities. We have good relationships with our neighbors and we would like to keep it that way. I re-emphasize the direct neighbors (Russ) enjoy library like quiet… there is no other option to them. No Pets. Dogs are not allowed in Big Cottonwood Canyon due to watershed code regulations. 4 WHEEL DRIVE IS A MUST !!!!! AND TIRE CHAINS/CABLES. If you gamble with a 2 wheel drive car, expect a HUGE vacation ruining access/departure problem!!! If it Snows on your arrival day, You will not make it to the house with 2 wheel drive.. if you make it to the cabin and then it snows, you won’t be able to leave the neighborhood without risking a car off the side of the road, stuck, or worse damaged from sliding into the ditch.. … both of these situations will be observed by the neighbors and they will instantly lodge a nuisance complaint for a renter that gets their vehicle stuck. The locals have virtually zero tolerance for renter’s causing any inconvenience even if it’s not intentional, such as a stuck vehicle. At the cabin, there are 2 locations to park..  In a blizzard or if there’s a blizzard coming, PARK JUST BELOW THE CABIN BEFORE THE 90degree UPHILL TURN !!! At the cabin, this is a small parking space on the left side immediately off the street and below the cabin BEFORE the sharp uphill corner.. See the pictures for a better idea.. In a blizzard or if there’s a blizzard coming, PARK JUST BELOW THE CABIN OR RISK A DISASTER EVEN WITH FOUR WHEEL DRIVE!! I have a 4 wheel drive Forerunner with Studded Bizzaak tires and I still park in the lower space when snow is expected overnight. I know you may think that hauling gear around and up the hill sucks… but getting your vehicle stuck on the corner or damaged from sliding off the downhill side of the corner will be INFINITELY WORSE!!! It happens EVERY SINGLE TIME IT SNOWS!! Some one usually gambles each storm and ends up putting the vehicle off the side, or smashed in the snow bank on top of rocks buried under the snow at the corner and corner edge of the road.. Can’t really be considered Ski in and Ski out… you are 1.3 miles from Solitude. However…, I can (and often do) walk through the neighborhood and up a short hill that follows a Power Line and be ON the Eagle Lift at Solitude in 17 minutes from the cabin.. I often do this and it’s easy to backtrack to the cabin.. For the adventurous you can actually ski directly to cabin.. but this requires a bit of backcountry and knowledge of the neighborhood is needed to get it right.. Vaping is smoking. Smoking is not allowed. I really wish I did not have to state this, but if you vape or smoke inside the cabin we will be forced to end the reservation and charge significantly for necessary additional cleaning.
