There is a hiking trail that leads to a small creek and pond that runs from the front of the house near the trash box to the backyard near the fire pit. *The fireplace is on a timer. Use the control located near the front door. Do NOT place logs in the fireplace or run fireplace and air-conditioning at the same time. To operate, simply push and hold down for a few seconds the button corresponding to the desired duration. **If you do not know how to light a gas stove, then please do not use it. Misuse of the stove can be dangerous. ***The hot tub is made of all natural, untreated cedar wood that makes the water smell wonderful but also gives the water a tea-colored tint. Do not be alarmed if the water is off-colored. This is perfectly normal and does not mean that the water is dirty. The hot tub is drained and cleaned between every guest stay. The hot tub needs to be turned on 45 minutes prior to use to reach optimal temperature. Please keep lid on when not using. The hot tub can be dangerous for children, pregnant women and those with certain health conditions. ****The sauna takes about 45 minutes to reach optimal temperature. The sauna can be dangerous for children, pregnant women and those with certain medical conditions. You should not stay in the sauna for more than 15 minutes at a time. You should not use the sauna if you have been drinking alcohol. Drink water before and after use. The sauna heater will burn you. Do not touch it. Do not hang towels, robes or clothing on or near the sauna heater. Do not pour water on the sauna heater. Please leave sauna door open for 15 minutes after use. Do not sit or lie directly on the wood. Use the towels provided. There are striped towels in the laundry room for use in the sauna and hot tub. DO NOT put GREASE OR FOOD WASTE down the SINK. DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING BUT TOILET PAPER (including wipes and tampons). The cabin's plumbing runs on a septic system. If you put any of these things down the drain, it may cause the system to overflow, making your stay a lot less pleasant. Proper management of garbage and food waste is essential to protect the wildlife. Trash must be bagged and placed in receptacles inside of the bear-proof trash box and latch the door. Trash is collected once a week. Do not leave food outside or inside vehicles. DO NOT PLACE LOOSE TRASH IN THE OUTDOOR RECEPTACLES. Pets are welcome but you will be responsible for any damage. If you allow your pet on the furniture, please cover the furniture with a blanket. The ramp on the west side of the house is for dogs only and not people. If using the backyard after dark, please turn on the lighting using the control mounted near the back door to avoid trips and falls. Please turn off all exterior lights before bed and all interior lights when not being used. Light pollution is harmful to wildlife. Note that in the main floor bathroom, the shower faucet handle temperature setting is backwards. Hot (red) is cold and cold (blue) is hot. Guest access Entire property.
