Tigh Na Mar Oceanfront Beach House, El Ñuro, Peru

Tigh Na Mar is a luxury beach house situated at the ocean’s edge, or as we say in Peru, "en la primera fila" on a private sandy beach in El Ňuro, Peru. Here you can surf, swim, go beach-combing, jog, hike or..….you can simply do nothing. The house is an hour’s walk along the ocean to Los Organos, a typical Peruvian village. The space The high ceilinged, Sante Fe style house boasts 5 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 12 guests, and is perfect for families. ● *The airy master bedroom with spacious ensuite white carrara marble bathroom has a queen size bed and opens onto a private covered patio overlooking the garden and the ocean beyond. An ocean view desk in this large bedroom allows you to work in peace and quiet. ● *Two other large bedrooms each have a queen size bed as well as a desk. ● The small fourth bedroom has two bunk beds and sleeps 4. This cosy room is perfect for children who like to sleep in the same room while on vacation. The toy shelves are right outside this room. ● The second bathroom is also tiled in white carrara marble. ● *The fifth bedroom has its own private entry and ensuite bathroom and is unconnected to the main house. It is perfect for those needing a bit of separation and privacy and would be ideal for grandparents, a couple with a new baby, or as a nanny suite. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet and there is an additional large sink in the bedroom, as well as a refrigerator. The twin beds can be converted to a king bed. *An extra single bed can be added to any of these rooms. ● A luxury outdoor enclosed shower with dual rainfall showerhead is located in the oceanside garden. The house has two main outdoor areas - oceanside where a large patio with couches, coffee tables, loungers and hammocks allows you to relax in the sun or shade, observe the many hummingbirds that visit the desert garden, watch the whales as they migrate south, or sip a drink while you marvel at a dramatic pink and purple sunset. The beach is right at the bottom of our garden stairs and the ocean a few steps (20 m) away. The other outdoor area is at the entryway of the house where the private swimming pool, for use ONLY by our house guests, is located. Here, within the privacy of the hibiscus and bougainvillea-covered walls, you can relax on the loungers around the pool, enjoy a meal or a board-game at the large dining table, or cook in the outdoor oven. A large grill is also available for use in the oven. Ours is the only house on the beach that has two separate lounging areas that allows you to move from one spot to the other, to get out of the sun or wind, or to have some alone time. The From the pool patio, stairs lead up to the large flat roof with a panoramic view of ocean and rolling hills, and various spots for private sunbathing. Inside, the house is beautifully appointed with local custom-made furniture and artwork by Peňa (Mancora) and Nina (Lima). The kitchen is well equipped and features a bar where guests can sit and chat while observing the cook at work. The open-concept living room has several seating areas with ocean views, as well as a TV-viewing area and a large table that can be used as a desk or for extra seating. The ocean-facing dining room can seat 10 people comfortably. The house is equipped with solar panels which allow for an environmentally responsible and safe way to capture the sun’s rays to provide energy. Daily housekeeping and cooking services are available for 4 hours a day (included in rental price) or all day (for extra charge paid directly to housekeeper). A groundskeeper is available on site daily to look after the pool and gardens. English is not spoken by the locals, so a little knowledge of Spanish would be helpful, but not necessary. With strong wifi in the house and patios, a translation app works well for communication, and of course an old-fashioned dictionary is also available. Our housekeeper/cook can create delicious Peruvian meals and can also assist with cooking or purchase of the food items you require from the market in Los Organos. She can also book taxis, or book a massage therapist to come to the house to give you an oceanside or poolside massage. For your health and safety, the house is cleaned and sanitized in between guests according to the required standards outlined by Airbnb. We can provide contact information for taxi service (or for larger groups a taxi minibus) to pick you up from the Talara airport. We use the same company and chauffeurs who are trustworthy, reliable, and know the route to our house. Guest access Long-stay guests may use the washing machine in the laundry room. For access, please ask housekeeper who can also do your laundry. A clothes line is available for all guests to dry bathing suits and towels. Clothes dry quickly in the hot desert sun. Fans are located in each bedroom to cool you off on hot nights. Other things to note Wifi is available for guest use. Please note, this is rural northern Peru, so the connection may not be as reliable as in the city and sometimes the signal may be lost. Check-in and check-out times are flexible depending on whether we have other guests. Prices are higher for Christmas, Easter and Peru national holidays.
