Our cabin, called the Resting Dragon, has 250 feet (75 meters) of beach front property, offering gorgeous views and complete privacy. Perfect for a relaxing vacation with all amenities available: full kitchen, living room, queen bed and sofa bed, large deck and 10mbs high speed internet to facilitate teleworking and video conference calls. Our cabin, is situated in Zancudo, on the Pacific coast of the southern tip of Costa Rica. It fits comfortably one couple upstairs and another person or child on a sofa bed downstairs. Mosquitos, not a problem. All the windows and doors have a mesh that keeps the mosquitos out of the house. There is also 10 mbs high speed internet to facilitate working virtually and attending video conference calls. Our cabin is right on the beach, on a 1.5 acre lot facing westerly, with a sunset view over the Osa Peninsula. Many come to read in the hammocks overlooking the ocean, or walk for hours along the long empty beach that stretches 12 miles from the point of the Zancudo Peninsula, south to Pavones, home of the longest left breaking wave. All our guests love this quiet and safe beach at our beachfront accommodation, and often want to extend their visit. Many others come for the plentiful water sports like kayaking and boogie boarding. The cabin is only five minutes walk from the best restaurant on the beach, Sol y Mar, and only 20 minutes from the supermarket. Vegetables and fruit are delivered to the cabin once a week and you can buy fresh fish at the port on every clear day. Due to COVID-19, food stocks are less plentiful and more expensive than usual, so it is advised that you buy your favorite foods in San Jose, Rio Claro, Golfito or Paso Canoas before arriving Zancudo. We are just as concerned as you are in keeping our cabin clean and preventing the spread of COVID-19. We follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights: Before you arrive, we sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob We use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination We clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists We provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay We comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines Zancudo is a small community of 300 Costa Ricans, and a handful of "laid-back" foreigners. We all flourish on fishing, and a small tourist industry. Playa Zancudo offers small beachfront hotels, great restaurants (even Italian restaurants with brick ovens for excellent pizzas, jungle tours, surfing, safe swimming, and world class sportfishing and fly fishing. Sol y Mar, one of the best restaurants/bars in Zancudo is only five minutes walking away and the supermarket about 20 minutes walking. This unique and undeveloped area is located far south, on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. We are about six miles by boat from Golfito, and eight miles by boat from Puerto Jimenez. Most of our guests fly into Golfito from San Jose, and arrive here in a taxi boat, and others drive in rental cars. The bus is another way to arrive, or even a private taxi right to your cabin door. Many of our guests come here to relax after visiting the Corcovado National Park on the Osa Peninsula, and they can be picked up in a taxi boat. We can help you choose and arrange the most comfortable arrival for you trip. The owner of the cabin lives outside of Costa Rica. We have a property manager, Barbara, who lives next to the cabin who is very helpful in making arrangements for transportation, settling in, and answering any questions that our guests may have. There is a boat that takes you to Golfito, about 20 minutes away, and buses that go to Paso Canoas, Pavones and Golfito. From Golfito, you can take busses to San Jose. There is also an airport in Golfito, with daily flights to San Jose. Please note that we have a very convenient outdoor shower that is right next to the cabin and completely private. When you return from the beach or from a long walk you can head straight for the shower that is surrounded by a wooden fence and tropical vegetation. Cool down under a cold or hot shower and then enter the house nice, clean and refreshed. Sometimes you see monkeys watching from above. It is surrounded by a high wooden fence and tropical plants, so nothing to be shy about.
