Escape to the peaceful Willow Cottage. Cozy up with a book or movie next to the crackling wood stove, or enjoy fire pit s'mores under our huge starry skies. Our sweet cottage welcomes you and your furry friends with a living/dining room space with wood stove, dining area & smart TV. Master king & twin bedrooms with comfy beds. Fully equipped kitchen. Large desk space as well as strong wifi in the twin bedroom provide excellent working at home options. Expansive back yard area & sunny patio. The space The cottage sits on 40 acres of private forest, accessed through a private, automatic gate. Drive time to both Fort Bragg and Mendocino is less than 10 minutes. The cottage is located near to the main home of the property, but is entirely separate with its own parking space, entrance and large back yard area with patio and fire pit. There are two separate bedrooms. The master has a king sized luxury Heavenly® bed, and enjoys a spectacular view over the pond and trees from the 7' patio doors. The patio is an idyllic sunny space to relax and enjoy the birdsong and forest. The second bedroom has a cute, built in cabin twin bed, also with a large picture window to enjoy the tree views. There is a spacious desk area , ideal for private working space options. The living/dining room has a warm wood stove (wood is provided) and comfortable sofa and chair and dining table. The smart TV and strong wifi offer good streaming options. The original cabin kitchen is fully equipped with full sized fridge, gas stove and microwave. The bathroom has a large walk in shower and modern vanity. Please note that the master bedroom is accessed through the bathroom, a quirk of the cottage! The cottage also offers a washer and dryer for guest use. The outside space is expansive, overlooking the pond and forest beyond. Licence #136161. Guest access You will have full private access to the cottage and expansive backyard area, including the outdoor patio and firepit with amazing forest views. Free parking, and plenty of room for a trailer or boat if needed. Pets are welcome. Check in is easy and self service. You will receive a personalized code 72 hours prior to your arrival for the lockbox on the front door. Other things to note Willow Cottage @ Barte Woods has a long history, and has been expanded four times by the three generations of family that have stewarded the property since 1933. This means there are different levels and steps within the cottage. Please note this if any guest has mobility issues. The cottage is also close to a pond. Please be aware of this if booking with toddlers or young children. The pond is not fenced and at least 6' deep in parts. Up to 2 dogs allowed, subject to an extra fee, but dogs must be kept on leash at all times and not left in the cottage unattended. Dogs must be friendly with other dogs as there is a golden retriever who lives in the neighboring house, which is located about 50’ away.
