Waterfront Cottage @ Lake Martin

LuLu’s Cottage is a cozy single level waterfront retreat tucked away in the quiet and peaceful area of Sandy Creek on Lake Martin. Relax on the screened porch & catch a glimpse of blue herons, birds, squirrels and the occasional deer. Park your boat at the large dock and head out for a day of beaching, fishing, skiing or tubing. Enjoy all the amenities that include kayaks, charcoal grill and outdoor bar, fire pit, in water lily pad and lounging! Close to Auburn for gameday weekends. Sleeps 6. The space Enjoy watching beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the large completely covered dock or screened porch, in the quiet neighborhood of Smith Mountain Estates, which includes a completely restored firetower offering gorgeous views of the lake and miles of hiking. Dare Park, located a couple of miles away, offers a public boat ramp, park, sandy beaches and swimming as well as covered picnicking. Dadeville is 10 min, Alexander City is 20 mins and Auburn is 35 mins drive. Maximum occupancy is 6 guests. Any additional overnight guests will be charged $50 per night per guest. We offer a discount to active/retired military and first responders with ID. Primary guest must be military. Contact us for your discount. All mattresses are medium/firm memory foam that are completely encased as well as protected with a mattress protector. We offer 2 pillows per guest that include 1 memory foam and 1 cooling gusseted pillow. All of our pillows are completely encased. Screened porch with TV, outdoor decks, firepit (bring firewood), outdoor bar and grilling area with weber charcoal grill (bring charcoal). Lights on seawall, in water fishing lights, landscape lighting and party lights. You may will need to bring firewood for the firepit and charcoal for the grill. We have a couple of generic adult life jackets for guest use. Lifejackets must be worn on any personal watercraft including kayaks. Guest access A single level home on a level 160ft of waterfront lot with plenty of room to enjoy the views, play games, fish, sunning, make smores, grill and relax! Camera’s on portions of property exterior for guest and owner safety. No cameras on screened porch or in house. House garage and shop on property are not available for use as well as 1 owner’s closet in the home. Dock is available for swimming, fishing, sunning and boating *during full pool (April - October) Boat slip and lift are NOT available to guests. You are welcome to tie off any boating equipment to the dock. Other things to note Please note, the lake water falls to winter pool and there is limited lake water at the dock during this time and you will not be able to tie up a boat, however, you can beach a boat on the lakebed. Kayaks can still be enjoyed & utilized year round. We have full water access typically April – October of each year. Between November-March, the water level is controlled by the Lake Martin Dam and the levels decrease. The dock will not accommodate a boat to be docked during this time. You can contact us ahead of time to check water levels and water temps. All guest outdoor activities are at the risk of the guest.
