The space The Rockhouse: A Spacious, Light-Filled Retreat on Lake Huron Welcome to The Rockhouse, your stunning 3,700 sq. ft., 5-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom beachfront oasis on the serene shores of Lake Huron in Cheboygan. The home is built around a dramatic central atrium—a spectacular architectural feature designed to maximize natural light and create an open, seamless flow between the first and second floors. ✨ Luxury Comforts and Amenities The Rockhouse comes comfortably furnished with all the amenities of home, including new towels, cozy robes, bedding, and linens. We also provide thoughtful extras such as games, laundry detergent, coffee supplies, and more. Inside, the open layout creates a welcoming atmosphere for your group. Cozy up downstairs by the inviting heat-emitting gas fireplace with just the flip of a switch, perfect for creating a warm ambiance on cooler evenings. 🌳 Outdoor Serenity Step outside to find a peaceful landscape featuring water and boulders. The elegant koi fish gracefully inhabit the waters in the front feature, adding a touch of serenity to your surroundings. The expansive beachfront porch offers the perfect spot to relax and unwind while taking in the captivating sights and sounds of the lake. IMPORTANT ARCHITECTURAL NOTE: The Rockhouse embraces a striking, intentionally open-concept design. * Primary Suite: The luxurious primary bedroom and ensuite bathroom on the second floor are open to the central atrium below. This suite offers incredible light and views but means there are no doors, only curtains, separating the bedroom and bathroom from the common area. There is a queen room off of the master that shares the master bathroom as well (this room has a door). Privacy in the suite is limited. This space is best suited for guests comfortable with openness and minimal enclosure. * Window Coverings: For the full light-filled experience, the home features minimal window coverings. Curtains are currently installed only on some windows, allowing for continuous, beautiful lake views both day and night. Other things to note Layout, Windows & Privacy Notes: The Design: This is a custom-designed architectural home built to immerse you in nature. Sound and light travel more freely here than in standard homes. Bathrooms/Bedrooms: Downstairs has 2 bedrooms that share a Bathroom. Upstairs has one bedroom with an onsite bathroom. The primary suite upstairs features an integrated glass layout / open partition concept and shares with the remaining bedroom. Please reach out if any additional details are helpful. The Windows & Doors: To protect the integrity of this lakeside structure, several of our vintage/large custom windows are safely locked and intended to remain closed. Fresh lake air flows beautifully through the designated screened sections and sliding doors. Like many traditional, high-end lakefront properties in Northern Michigan, our home does not feature central air conditioning. Instead, we embrace classic lakeside living, relying on the natural breeze off the water, ceiling fans, and portable area fans provided in each room. True to its sturdy construction, the side deck door simply requires a firm, reassuring push to securely latch and lock! Good old elbow and a kick ;)
