Rural, yet near Rowlett and Wylie in Dallas County, this new 552 sf cabin is custom designed with modern twist on the groovy 70’s. Chill on lounge chairs shaded by deck overlooking trees/pastures. Try birdwatching, hiking around acreage, or star gazing. Unwind at the fire-pit, or feed Koi fish at the pond. 1 mile to Lake Ray Hubbard; 3 to boat launch; 5 to Lake Lavon;10 mins. to rent a kayak/jet ski, water parks, wakeboard, windsurfing, indoor Rock Climbing, lake view shopping/restaurants. The space The cabin is a 552 sf cabin on 4.5 acres. The bathroom is the ONLY completely enclosed room. THERE ARE NO ENCLOSED BEDROOMS. There is a queen bed with a new 10” spring mattress and 2” foam topper- in the bedroom area. There is a full bed on top of the loft that has a 4” mattress with a 2” foam topper. There is a twin blow up mattress for the open up couch bed, or the floor, that’s located inside the floating cabinet box under the TV. Dog friendly. Required notification of dog(s) prior to booking. $50 Pet Fee/Stay; up to 2 dogs max. There is plenty of opportunity to sit out on the deck and enjoy the beauty of country living very close to the city, enjoying hummingbird feeders (not in winter) or identifying the birds, or gazing at stars. There is a community firepit with stocked wood. Fire starter, lighter and lighter fluid are on top of the refrigerator. Please be sure to thoroughly extinguish fire with nearby hose. S’more’s fixings are in pantry. There’s a picnic table for your exclusive use outside on the east side of the cabin. We have a pond nearby and in the spring, summer and early fall (not winter) you can take a sack of provided fish food and feed Koi and Comet fish. Be patient, as it can take our scaly friends 5 to 10 minutes to come up to the surface, but they will. Do not feed them anything other than pellets provided, nor slap the water (that can shock them.) The privacy is complete, except for the entrance to your cabin which is facing the other two cabins about 40 feet and 75 feet away, where our 2 family members live. We will always respect your privacy and defer to peace and quiet first. However, should there be anything you need, we are very welcoming, approachable and friendly neighbors. We have four sweet dogs and will keep them away, but if you like dogs, let us know, and we will let them roam more freely . We have some maintenance workers around so there may be very occasional mowing or edging sounds after 8:30 a.m. on week days only. Since you are in between two large suburban areas, and 30 minutes from Dallas, there are so many places that you can go within 5 miles to eat and drink and shop, but we are more than happy to make recommendations. We are also 1/4 mile from Lake Ray Hubbard and 3 miles from lake boat launch. We have room to park a boat if you are pulling. Kayaking rental nearby. 1 outside camera is pointed at street and is located at our gate only to alert us of your arrival. There are NO OTHER camera’s anywhere on property inside or outside. We look forward to your stay, and are happy to help you in anything you may need. Guest access You must pass through a stock gate and please BE SURE TO CLOSE IT AGAIN WHEN PASSING THROUGH. There are four steps up to the front door. Please douse it out with hose when finished. We have an outdoor camera at the gate facing the street to alert us of your arrival. This is the only camera on the property. If you are uncomfortable with the dogs, it is no problem, we totally understand they are not for everyone and we will keep them at a distance unless you tell us otherwise. You can wander the property- just be aware you may meet a snake, bugs, bee’s, fire ants, chiggers, turtles, armadillos, possum, loads of birds and large water fowl, and very rarely, deer. Sometimes coyote packs cry and bark in the distance at night.😍
