The space This cozy log cabin is part of a 5-unit property located just across Portage Lake from Michigan Tech University and less than a mile from downtown Hancock and Houghton. Whether you’re visiting MTU, attending Winter Carnival, or just exploring the Keweenaw, this location puts you close to everything—shops, dining, breweries, and events. You’ll find excellent local food and drink nearby, from lakefront restaurants and microbreweries to coffee shops, burgers, and artisan pizza. Favorites like Keweenaw Brewing Company, Suomi Bakery, the Ambassador, and Studio Pizza are just a few minutes away. The cabin offers direct snowmobile and ATV trail access, so you can hop on and ride straight from the door—no trailer needed. For gear rentals, DB Motorsports is right next door with snowmobiles, pontoons, and jet skis depending on the season. Inside, the cabin is private and fully self-contained. Outdoors, you’ll have access to shared spaces like the hot tub, sauna, firepit, and game room. The environment is active and social, especially during peak trail season, and we (your hosts) live next door if you need anything during your stay.
