Spacious four-season lakefront camp on peaceful Dexter Pond in central ME. Avoid the busy lakes and enjoy great fishing, canoeing, SUP, kayaking, or relax and watch the sunsets and loons from the large porch overlooking the pond. The home is in a great location close to Winthrop center and Wayne (10 mins to local grocery store, farmers market) 30 mins to Augusta/airport. Many hiking trails nearby and lots of other areas to explore. Beautiful in all seasons. Private dock, fire-pit, laundry. The space The camp is located steps from the pond with a large private yard and dock. It is a split level. On the main floor is a clean and spacious kitchen that has everything you need for an easy stay - pots/pans, many cooking utensils, coffee pot, tea kettle, waffle maker, lobster pot, children's dish-ware, wine glasses, dish towels, and more. There is a dining table with four chairs and a bench for additional seating (table leaf available if needed). For outdoor entertaining and cooking, there is a large deck overlooking the pond. Enjoy grilling and relaxing under the birch trees with amazing water views. The deck is a favorite spot to unwind with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine! The bright and airy main living space has great views of the water and has access to the porch, which makes for an indoor/outdoor feel. There is a smart TV and pull-out sofa (with full size mattress). On the main level, there is a full bath with shower, tub, and plenty of storage (linens included). Next to the bathroom is the primary bedroom with a comfortable queen bed with organic cotton linens, a spacious closet, and a dresser. The basement level has a second living space with a futon (full-size mattress). There is easy access from the walkout basement to a patio and the pond. Great for coming into the camp after enjoying the outdoors. The basement living room is great for kids with plenty of board games, puzzles, and space to play. Plenty of storage as well! Two additional bedrooms are on the basement level. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed with cotton linens. There is no closet in this bedroom, but there is a garment rack as well as a dresser. Please note that the closet in this bedroom is a utility closet that houses the hot water heater and water pump. The third bedroom on the basement level is perfect for adults or kids. It has two twin beds, a large closet, and a dresser. All linens included. There is a washer and dryer in the basement as well - detergent is provided. Yoga mats are available for guests. The deck in the morning is a relaxing place to practice yoga and enjoy your coffee! The camp comfortably sleeps 6, however, it can accommodate up to 8 guests (with the pull-out sofa and futon). Will consider 8 guests on a case-by-case basis. Outside you can enjoy the large yard, expansive deck, small swing set for kids, and outdoor fire pit. We currently have 2 kayaks, 2 canoes, a pedal boat, and 1 stand-up paddle board for guests. The camp would also make a great space for long-term renters - looking for some peace and quiet but close to other area amenities. A desk can be added if needed. Dexter Pond is a hidden gem with minimal boat traffic. The fishing is great and the water is calm (and warm!) making it ideal for kayaking and paddle boarding. Water levels of the pond vary, but it tends to be shallow with some vegetation only directly in front of the camp. Once out on the pond, the water is nice and clear for swimming. We recommend stand-up paddle boarding or relaxing on a float in the water! If you are visiting in the fall explore hiking trails and leaf peeping or visit a Maine fair. In the winter, the camp is also very beautiful with skiing nearby, ice fishing, and much more. Guest access Entire home, yard and private dock, not shared. Other things to note The camp is not a party-rental. It's a perfect place to unwind, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. We ask that renters are respectful of this for us and our neighbors. The camp is on a well-maintained {shared} dirt road. Guests are asked to drive slow. (top speed 15mph) There is a small narrow bridge that you must cross to get to the home. It is completely safe and even large delivery trucks drive on it. Both indoor fireplaces are non-functional. Because the camp is a split level, please be aware that it may not be suitable for families with babies on the move! There is a stairway inside from the main level to basement as well as a large deck on the second level of the home. Access to the pond is down a sloped hill - not suitable for guests with mobility issues.
