Historic Oceanfront 3BR Boathouse-4 miles to Acadia National Park
The Boathouse is one of Mount Desert Island's standout Oceanfront properties. From sumptuous accommodation's our views of the working waterfront on Bass Harbor and peaks of Acadia are grand. The space The ground floor features a very large open living concept: a living room with ample and comfortable seating, well appointed kitchen, a dining table to comfortably seat 8, full bathroom, den, floor to ceiling windows provide stunning views, birch hardwood floors throughout, and a covered balcony deck with wicker chairs, table, and gas grill. The ground floor features an open concept pace with living, dining, kitchen and den with working space combined in one pleasant and well appointed space. Off this Greatroom are an oceanfront balcony, full bathroom and laundry. Upstairs you will find three separate bedrooms with queen beds, closets, and nice cherry furniture. The master bedroom has amazing 180 degree views of not only the entire harbor, but you will see the outer islands and a view second to none of the mountains of Acadia National park. A private covered balcony off the Master Bedroom also has wicker furniture. There's even a telescope available for spotting the night sky or identifying a boat day-sailing or one bringing home the daily lobster catch. The Boathouse lives up to it's name. It was the home of Rich Brothers boat building. Over 150 wooden boats were built here over the years. The Downeast craftmanship of these famous vessel's is gone but the spirit of the building lives on in the working Up Harbor Marina which is also part of the property. A short walk, drive or kayak away is Thurston' Lobster Pound, the premier seafood restaurant on Mount Desert Island. We hope you will come stay with us in this very serene but energetic neighborhood. We are on the 'Quietside' of the island where the pace is slower; the 'front side' where Bar Harbor's T-shirt shops and bustling town is a 30 minute drive. Bass Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Seal Harbor, Northeast Harbor, and other villages each have their own charm and unique finds. Acadia National Park surrounds these towns and has myriad carriage paths for biking, trails for hiking, Sand Beach, Ocean Drive; you must see the sunrise from Cadillac Mountain, the first spot on the east coast to see the sun in the States! Things to Know: * The Boathouse is located at Up Harbor Marine, a working marina on a working harbor. It can be noisy at times during working hours Monday thru Fri. * To use streaming services, guests must log in with their own credentials. * 1 mature and house broken dog, weighing 45 lbs or less, is welcome in the Boathouse. No other animals are allowed. * Parking notes: One dedicated parking space is 20 feet from the Boathouse entrance. Overflow parking is also available in our upper parking * Washer and dryer access is located in a shared hallway right off the kitchen. * Guest entry instructions: This Boathouse utilizes an E-lock for self check-in, a digital lock that requires a unique code to enter. This code is reset after each guest's stay. We will message you the code a day or two prior to your arrival. * You must be 25 years or older to rent this property. The apartment occupies nearly two floors of the main building. The small basement with a separate entrance holds the Up Harbor Marina office. There are two entrances to the Boathouse apartment. The easiest is through the ground level "hallway", which has a public area with bathrooms and laundry for our other. Airbnb & Marina guests. The other entrance is off a small deck with a seven step stairway to ground level. Locks are 4 digits codes, changed between each reservation. The code is sent to guests a day prior to the reservation.
