When you leave the conveniences of your home, entering this beautiful region of rural Mexico, you leave behind the expectations that everything is going to happen smoothly. While this sounds like an inconvenience, instead it is what makes this space magical. We get to slow down and remember what is truly necessary, appreciating what is important. We have this unique opportunity to take a step back and experience Baja as it is, not how we want it to be. *Please keep in mind you are in a gorgeous developing area of Baja that is still under development. The entire area of Cerritos is pretty much under construction. If you are sensitive to noise, this may not be the place for you. It is not unreasonable to hear projects from time to time, within reason. Please keep in mind this is a desert and beach environment. You may encounter critters and various indigenous animals on the property including but not limited to, roaches, lizards, scorpions, insects, rabbits and other free roaming desert and beach animals. Please try and keep an eye out and be aware you are in their environment and space as well :) Sometimes the insects can easily get into your space, so please keep windows and doors closed as much as possible (especially during the summer months)! LATE CHECKOUT/EARLY CHECK-IN- We can sometimes accommodate depending on our housekeeper and their schedule. Please inquire prior to your stay. Fee: $500 peso PER a request! We do not offer long term rentals. We would consider a month or two during the months of May-September, but nothing beyond that! Please do not inquire for winter months!! Guest access You are welcome to your personal condo, private balcony, rooftop and all around the property. Make sure you check out our beautiful small garden! You will have access to the rooftop, pool, hot tub and grill area. Other things to note Please note this property has other people sometimes retreating as well. Please adhere to normal safety protocols, and keep your belongings locked in your room when not around. Please make sure you are disposing of sanitary wipes and toilet paper in the trash cans provided as our septic is still sensitive here in Mexico. Please be aware that our quiet hours are from 10pm-6am. Please Note: We recommend that guests get trip insurance for their trip. We do not issue refunds for weather-related cancellations or illness/injury related cancellations outside the cancellation timelines. You can find trip insurance via several providers online for next to nothing in comparison to the loss of a trip. Frequently Asked Questions: 1. Should I rent a car? Yes, we recommend it. There is a lot to explore in and around Cerritos Beach and Todos Santos. There are amazing beaches, art galleries, great restaurants and more. Your trip will be more enjoyable if you take advantage of being mobile. There are rental car companies at the airport, but you will get better rates if you plan ahead. If you choose not to rent a car, you can take a taxi to/from the airport, or we can get you a certified driver. Keep in mind however, there is limited taxi service in our area. We recommend Cactus Rent a Car at the Los Cabos Airport. 2. Are the roads safe? Yes, they are safe. Our 4 lane highway was completed a few years ago . This increased the safety of the road and shortened the trip time from the airport to us and vice versa. 3. How far is it from the airport to Cerritos Beach? It is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cerritos Beach is only 40 miles North of Cabo San Lucas on the Pacific Ocean side. 4. Are there restaurants near by the resort? Yes, there are many restaurants that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner within walking distance of the condo! Definitely try these restaurants within walking distance of the condo: Barracuda Cantina (delicious seafood tacos and hand crafted cocktails), Don Nacho, Cerritos Surf Town restaurant on the beach , Napoli pizza place in Villa De Cerritos (wood-fired pizzas), Shaka's Cantina (gringo sports bar) . All of these restaurants are close to Cerritos beach. You can also drive into town. El Pescadero is 5 minutes away and Todos Santos is 10 minutes away. Both towns have fantastic restaurants! Hierbabuena in Pescadero and The Green Room in Todos Santos are nicer restaurants with great vibes! Carlitos restaurant in Pescadero, and Café Santa Fe, Miguels, Tequila Sunrise, and the Hotel California in Todos Santos. If you want a local place we suggest Quesadillas Mundo in Todos Santos, Burger Shack or El Zurdo Tacos in Pescadero. Baja Beans is our favorite coffee shop in Pescadero. 5. Are there places that rent surf and boogie boards on the beach, wetsuits, etc? Yes, there is Costa Azul that rents boards and other surf gear. You can also find surf board rentals all across the beach! Also, there are surf instructors that give private and group lessons at these pop up locations. 6. Is there night life? Not a lot , however you can find live music on the weekends at the Hotel California. Shaka's cantina sometimes post to their social media accounts for their live music line-up. Quiotes in Pescadero sometimes hosts open mic night. Other than that, it is pretty quiet up here on the coast. Cabo is just down the road. (35 minute drive from us). 7. Is the beach safe? Cerritos Beach is the only safe swimming and surfing beach on the Pacific for hundreds of miles. However, like the ocean anywhere, please use caution! Life guards are on duty most days. 8. What about the crime? We have all heard the horror stories. Our area of Baja is very safe. What you see in the news, that’s Mainland Mexico. We are away and far from the rest of the country. Like any country, keep your valuables locked up and doors locked when you leave your room. 9. Can we pay in US Dollars? Everywhere accepts US dollars. You will get your best exchange rate at bank ATM's, don't forget to let your bank know your travel dates so that they authorize the ATM and credit card charges. 10. Will my cell phone work? AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and GSM based providers works very well. Please check with your phone company to see if there is anything special you should do before you travel. There may be a Mexican rate plan you can have while you are on your trip. There are also prepay phones you can buy for 30 US dollars with minutes included that you can get from any cell phone company here in town which will work very well, also is very cheap to call the US. You can pick up phones at the Telcel stores, or the local OXXO stores. We have a US / Canada phone in the office that you can use. 11. How far is the closest grocery store? There are vegetable stands and grocery stores 5 minutes away in Pescadero and in Todos Santos, 10 minutes away. Brody's neighborhood tienda, is on the left side of the road as you drive in at the second entrance to Cerritos Beach. Kimberly's also has a small super market here in Cerritos, but is more gringo pricing. 12. Can we buy food and cook ourselves? Yes, our condo has all you need to cook or prep a normal meal. 13. Does the resort have internet? Yes you have internet in your condo. The wifi is Scarlet Cardones 3. Sometimes the power or internet may go out due to the rapid increase of persons in the area. 14. Do I need a passport? Yes, traveling from almost any country to Mexico requires a Passport. 15. What airport do I fly in to? We are located right in the middle of 2 international airports: San Jose del Cabo (SJD) and La Paz International airport (LAP). La Paz is a good option but it doesn’t have as many flights. We suggest San Jose del Cabo. 16. Is the Resort kid friendly? Yes, it is definitely a kid friendly resort. 17. What kind of kid activities are there? There are surf lessons, boogie boards, horseback riding, ATV and dune boogies, drinking smoothies at the beach club and WiFi. 18. What else is there to do? Todos Santos is known for its art galleries, world class cuisine, its historic mission and regional museum, as well as many boutiques and bookstores. Anything you could possibly want is down the road in Cabo where there is a great nightlife, discos, fishing, golf, fine dining, snorkeling, and shopping malls. You can find organic grocery stores (with items for diet restrictions), as well as Starbucks, Costco and Walmart. 19. What should I bring? Sunscreen, bathing suit, sunglasses, a hat, sandals, shorts and t-shirts, camera, a good book and maybe your laptop. Bring casual clothing. For girls, shorts and summer dresses work great. For the cooler evenings and the months November- April, a sweater and pants are a good idea; even the nicer restaurants are always semi casual. Just pack for the perfect summer day. 20. What about pets? We are pet friendly, but charge a pet fee of $450 pesos. We do not allow excessive barking. Well behaved dogs and cats only. If they disrupt other guests' stay, you will be asked to leave the premises. It there is pet damage, we will assess the damage and ask for that to monetarily be fixed or replaced. 21. Electricity ? The power company now delivers our electric power. But, not not un like other remote areas in Baja, we can experience short interruptions during stormy weather and when the electrical usage in Cerritos is higher than normal. If you are looking for an all night party scene, we are not the place for you, Quiet time is from 10:00 pm- 8:00am
