Our neighborhood abuts the Peterson Nature Preserve and our home can be rented with (if available) one/both of our adjacent two bedroom homes (a fence with a gate separates the homes) if more space is desired. Downtown Saugatuck is a short walk away and Douglas and Oval Beach are easy drives. Enjoy all of the amenities provided indoors and outdoors. All "A Step Away" guests receive a discount when shopping our local store during their stay. Lastly, we're dog friendly (w/approval & fee). The space Our “A Step Away” home—your ideal “Rendezvous” getaway—has so much to offer: location, amenities, and hospitality. This single-story home features a fully renovated interior, a fenced yard with landscaping, and easy on-site parking for a couple of vehicles. Inside, you’ll find comfortable accommodations for two, thoughtfully styled with décor that reflects the charm of Saugatuck, Douglas, and the local beach and arts scenes. The home is perfect for a variety of travelers—from solo adventurers to couples. Whether you’re traveling alone, with a partner, or renting both this home and one of the adjacent two-bedroom homes next door, you’ll enjoy a space designed for carefree living. The home includes one king bedroom, and the brand-new kitchen with a dining island flows into a vaulted-ceiling living room. Large windows and a glass door offer views of the patios and gardens. The living room opens directly onto a pergola-covered patio, complete with seating and a propane grill—perfect for relaxing or entertaining. The bathroom is also new and includes a shower (no bathtub). We believe “A Step Away” is the perfect place to enjoy your Saugatuck escape—whether you choose just this home or pair it with one of our neighboring two-bedroom properties. As a guest of “A Step Away,” you’re invited to stop by our home décor, clothing, and jewelry store—Kindel & Company—located at 241 Culver St. in downtown Saugatuck. We’re happy to provide personalized recommendations for local attractions, dining, and shopping (we call it our “lite” concierge service). Plus, all guests receive an exclusive in-store discount! The home offers a fenced yard and parking for two of your vehicles is available in the driveway. Other things to note This home is for the exclusive use of you and your guests. It shares a site with another single-family "A Step Away" home, but the two homes are separated by fencing and do not share any spaces. CLEANLINESS and CHECK-IN: Our homes are thoroughly cleaned by local professionals with whom we’ve built long-term relationships. Cleaning protocols are monitored and updated by your hosts as needed, and we regularly inspect each home. We offer contactless check-in. Before your arrival, you’ll receive a link to our digital Guest eGuide to help you get settled and make the most of your stay. RESERVATION GUIDELINES: Please enter the number of guests (and dogs, if applicable) when submitting an inquiry or reservation request. The primary renter must be 25 years of age or older. Parties are not permitted. FEES AND TAXES: PET FEES & EXPECTATIONS Certain dogs (maximum of two) are considered, subject to host approval and a per-stay pet fee. Please do not use Instant Book unless your dog(s) have been approved in advance. The pet fee will be added to your reservation as long as you include the number of pets during booking or inquiry. If you’d like to add approved dogs to an existing reservation, please contact the host directly. A fee adjustment will be sent before your arrival. Pet Etiquette Expectations: Dogs must be leashed when not in a fenced area. Owners are expected to clean up after their dogs and dispose of waste appropriately. Excessive or constant barking, especially during quiet hours, is not permitted. Dogs should not be left alone in the home for extended periods. If any damage occurs, please notify the host immediately. CLEANING FEES: A cleaning fee is included and distributed across the length of your stay. This fee helps cover the actual cost of cleaning services provided by local professionals. SALES TAXES: In accordance with Michigan law, a 6% sales/use tax applies to the base rate and all additional fees (e.g., cleaning, pet, or extra person fees). Airbnb collects and remits this tax on your behalf. BEFORE and DURING YOUR STAY: Lawn care may take place during your stay, but not during early or late hours. An automatic sprinkler system runs during the growing season. Please dispose of all garbage and recycling (Saugatuck does not offer weekly recycling) in the waste bins located near the side gate. On Sundays, we collect trash for Monday’s curbside pickup. CHECKOUT INSTRUCTIONS: Place all used towels in the bathroom and leave dirty linens on unmade beds. Load and run the dishwasher with any dirty dishes before departing. If you use the propane grill, please burn off food remnants and clean the grates with the wire brush provided (located near the propane tank). Turn off all lights, close all windows, and adjust the HVAC to the specified temperature before leaving. Finally, lock the door using the digital entry lock.
