The Space’s Story: Mitigoog House is named after its location in the Anishinaabe language which is the language spoken by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians. The word mitigoog means trees. We chose this word to represent our home because it is located in a wooded area on Orchard Highway. Our choice to represent the Anishinaabe language is to pay homage to the history of the tribe’s people. Throughout the homes design and landscaping you will find small things that embrace the Seven Grandfather’s Teachings which are love, wisdom, respect, bravery, honesty, humility, and truth.
