Downtown Madison Lake Mendota Historic Mansion

Serene lake getaway in the heart of downtown Madison! Ideally located on a private dead end street on the shores of Lake Mendota, less than a mile from the Capitol square. Walk to the many nearby restaurants, Sylvee, Breese Stevens field and State Street. Or stay home and enjoy the lake on our provided kayaks, paddleboards and canoe. Enjoy a sauna, fun in our rec room or a relaxing sunset from our backyard garden and dock. Very large 5 bedroom home great for groups and families. The space Sleeping arrangements include 3 bedrooms on the second floor- King in the Master, queen, and queen Murphy bed. The Master also has a couch that pulls out into a twin bed. The 3rd floor has a queen and a full sized futon with memory foam mattress. There is a bonus queen bed "nook" in the basement. City of Madison zoning allows for 10 adults at our 5 bedroom property however additional children may stay. Guest access When not a short term rental, we live here full time with a dog. Our home is professionally cleaned before and after stays, however if you have pet allergies please take note. We only rent out our house a limited number of days per year, usually during big weekends in Madison due to our great location! Our personal belongings will be present in the house but we do provide luggage racks and over door hangers in each room. Bonus is our kitchen is fully stocked of any tools you may need. If you have any concerns before booking, I'm happy to address them. You will have lake access on our private dock and beach as well as access to stand up paddle boards and kayaks. **During the summer months you may see us briefly on the dock accessing our boat, however if preferred we can give you advance notice. Boat is not available for guest use. Other things to note We do have outdoor Arlo security cameras for security as safety. No fires are allowed in the indoor fireplace, however we do have two outdoor fire pits you may use; a propane fire table and a wood burning fire pit.
