Charming Downtown Historic Home

This historic home located within 3 blocks of Downtown Thomasville is the perfect respite for a truly Southern weekend. Built in 1874, the Walcott Cottage features eleven foot ceilings, original heart pine floors, and all with modern amenities. You can walk or ride your bike downtown and around the Historic Dawson Street neighborhood and feel like a true native. Sit on the front porch to hear the church bells ringing. It makes for the perfect stay away from home..we can't wait to have you. The space When you come into the house from the back wheel chair ramp, you enter the mudroom, which is a perfect open space for storing your luggage or extra items. There is a full bathroom as you leave the mudroom and enter the living room, which has a large sectional for lounging and TV and board games. The laundry room is found off the back. From there, the beautiful kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans, and basic kitchen supplies. There is a small nook for two to enjoy breakfast. The dining room/library extends towards the front of the house. From there, you access the first of the main floor bedrooms (with TV), which connects to the second full bathroom (there is also a door off the kitchen for access). And, from the front hall, the second main floor bedroom (with TV) is found there. Up the stairs (the top riser is not a full riser, so if you have trouble with stairs, it is part of the charm but also is recommended to hold the railing for young children or older guests. The second floor offers a home office with desk and plenty of room and the front room is the third bedroom with twin beds. We can't wait to have you! Other things to note The house is a step back in time with modern conveniences. There are two heating/cooling systems (upstairs and downstairs). In addition, the property is situated onto two lots with plenty of parking. The yard is fully enclosed along the left side and back yard with an outdoor table for casual dining off the kitchen.
