Description

Nestled in the heart of Highland Park, just a half-mile north of York Blvd, lies our inviting open-plan sanctuary. This charming 1200 SF designer home exudes contemporary comfort in one of the city's trendiest neighborhoods. NEW HVAC & Hi Speed WiFi NOTE: This is not a party house, so please don’t ask to host one here. Also keep in mind, this house is located in Highland Park, which is a diverse, hipster community, not a posh neighborhood. The space Welcome! So happy you’re here! Below are a few notes to help you get settled in and enjoy your stay. Nothing too serious—just the little quirks of the house so you can relax and make the most of it. :) Bedrooms There are two bedrooms. One with a Cal King bed and the other with a full size bed. The living room has a Room & Board fold out couch that is really roomy and comfortable. If you use it, please let me know, so I can let the cleaning staff know. Main Shower • Upper Left Knob: Decides where the water comes out (hose, tub, or shower). • Right Knob: On/Off. • Bottom Knob: Temperature. If you push the button while turning, you’ll get hotter or colder water. Keeping Cool (Nest / HVAC) • The A/C is new and works great, but in summer it does best with shades down + Nest running. • Heading out for the day? Close the shades and put the Nest in Eco Mode. Otherwise, it’ll take a while to cool back down when you get home. Lights Outside • String lights on the deck: Switch is on the power strip on the far right wooden post when you’re looking at the valley. • Little wall sconces: Switches are inside the main bedroom. The Deck Soaking Tub • Think of this as a one-person tub of magic—not a party tub. :) • You’ll need to fill it before you soak and drain it after. • Jets are turned on with the knob in the main bedroom (right-hand wall facing the window). • Please use the beach towels we provide outside (not the white bath towels). • Use at your own discretion—owner not liable for accidents. • Tip: a solo soak with the view is unforgettable. WiFi • 1 Gig Fiber. Translation: it’s really fast. Work, stream, Zoom—it should handle it all. TV: • 65” Flatscreen LG QNED with soundbar in the living area only Friendly Wildlife • A sweet little bird has made a nest above the front door light. She lives there, so we let her. If you’re lucky, you might catch her nesting. Pets • Pets are welcome with the $150 pet cleaning fee. Electric Cars • Sorry, no car charging here. Parties • No parties, please! If you throw one, I’ll have to charge a $2,500 event fee and report it to Airbnb. Main Bedroom • Huge closets + stunning valley views. • Leave the shades up at night—you’ll love the view (no one can see in, promise). • Ceiling fan remote: Please don’t move it—it’s the only one, and replacing it is tricky. Indoor Bathtub • High ledge = nice for sitting, but be careful getting in and out. • Please squeegee after showering. • If you have time, it’s dreamy for a soak. Small Bathroom • Heated floors! Yes, even LA gets chilly enough to appreciate them. Kitchen Notes • Wolf range: Very quiet—double check the gas is off after cooking. • Vent hood: Honestly, not great. If you burn something, open doors/windows instead. • Cleaning: Please skip the harsh sponges/cleansers—things scratch easily. Parking • Street parking is available right out front. • Just watch for red flag days (rare). Garage & Laundry • Available for stays of 5 nights or more (by request). • Garage access is through the stairwell off the kitchen. • The garage door opener is mounted above the washer/dryer (no handheld remote). • Fits most cars, but honestly, street parking is usually easier. And Finally… If you have a question—about the bathtub, how something works, or even what to do in the neighborhood—just reach out. I’m always happy to help. Enjoy your stay! :) Guest access Entire House is open. Garage is available upon request on stays 5 days and longer. Other things to note The HVAC system is new, but during the hot summer months, it works best if all the shades are closed and the nest is running. If you intend to leave for an entire day, close all window shades and turn the “eco” feature on the nest, otherwise it will take a while to cool the house down. If you want to turn on/off the hanging string lights on the deck, there is an on/off button on the power strip that is located on the wooden post furthest to the left when facing the back of the house. There are also small outdoor wall sconces that have their own switches on the wall inside the primary bedroom. The bathtub on the deck is a soaking tub for one. It’s not a tub you can chill out in with your pals. Think of it as a one person large bathtub. You need to fill it up to use it and drain it when you’re done. You will be able to take a very relaxing solo soak and take in the views. It’s pretty magical if you do. :) Note: Use house supplied beach towels outside. Do not use house white towels outside as they will get soiled. Use of the tub is by guests discretion. Owner is not liable for accidents or negligent use by tenant. WiFi is 1gig fiber so it should be fast enough for most anything you’re trying to accomplish, especially for those working away from home. There is a bird’s nest on top of the light outside the front door. The bird lives there, so we let her. If you’re lucky, you will see her nesting her egg. :) Pets are allowed provided you pay the additional pet cleaning fee of $150. Do not attempt to charge your electric car. PLEASE NOTE: If I see that you are having a party or had a party, I will charge a $2500 event location fee and report you to AirBnB. Registration details HSR24-001188
