Nestled in the heart of Highland Park, just a half-mile north of York Blvd, lies our inviting open-plan sanctuary. This charming 1200 SF designer home exudes contemporary comfort in one of the city's trendiest neighborhoods. NEW HVAC & Hi Speed WiFi NOTE: This is not a party house, so please don’t ask to host one here. Also keep in mind, this house is located in Highland Park, which is a diverse, hipster community, not a posh neighborhood. The space The main bedroom is large with crazy amounts of closet space. The view of the valley from the room is beautiful, so I suggest you leave the shades up at night. Don’t worry—no one can see in! If you use the ceiling fan, please don’t move the remote. It’s the only one we have and is difficult to replace without rewiring the fan. The bathtub has a high ledge—great for sitting on, but is a bit difficult to climb into, so be careful getting in and out. It’s a pretty dreamy bath experience, if you have the time. Oh and please squeegee the tub when you’re done showering. The floors are heated in the small bathroom, which makes it even cozier during the winter months. Yes—LA does get cold enough for heated floors. The kitchen is pretty user friendly. The Wolf range is very quiet, so make sure to double check you turn off the gas! The vent above the stove is awful, so don’t expect it to suck up any foul cooking snafus! Open the doors and windows!!! It’s the worst part about the kitchen. And—Please don’t use any abrasive cleansers or sponges. You’d be amazed how easily things get scratched. Parking: There is street parking in front of the house, which you can use any day outside of red flag days (which are almost never). GARAGE/LAUNDRY: available for stays 5 days & more. There is a stairwell that leads to the garage from the kitchen. To access the garage door, please use clicker mounted on the inside of the garage door above the washer/dryer. Garage, washer/dryer is available for stays 5 days & longer upon request. The garage fits most cars and is available for stays 5 days or more. We haven’t had one that won’t fit yet, but you may find it easier to park on the street as the remote to the garage is mounted to the wall inside the garage. If you have a question (like how to use the bathtub or what’s fun to do in the area), please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to help. :) Guest access Entire House is open. Garage is available upon request on stays 5 days and longer. Other things to note The HVAC system is new, but during the hot summer months, it works best if all the shades are closed and the nest is running. If you intend to leave for an entire day, close all window shades and turn the “eco” feature on the nest, otherwise it will take a while to cool the house down. If you want to turn on/off the hanging string lights on the deck, there is an on/off button on the power strip that is located on the wooden post furthest to the left when facing the back of the house. There are also small outdoor wall sconces that have their own switches on the wall inside the primary bedroom. The bathtub on the deck is a soaking tub for one. It’s not a tub you can chill out in with your pals. Think of it as a one person large bathtub. You need to fill it up to use it and drain it when you’re done. You will be able to take a very relaxing solo soak and take in the views. It’s pretty magical if you do. :) Note: Use house supplied beach towels outside. Do not use house white towels outside as they will get soiled. WiFi is 1gig fiber so it should be fast enough for most anything you’re trying to accomplish, especially for those working away from home. There is a bird’s nest on top of the light outside the front door. The bird lives there, so we let her. If you’re lucky, you will see her nesting her egg. :) Pets are allowed provided you pay the additional pet cleaning fee of $150. PLEASE NOTE: If I see that you are having a party or had a party, I will charge a $2500 event location fee and report you to AirBnB. Registration number HSR24-001188
