Sweet Darling House is a 19th Century home in the renowned Gospel Hill neighborhood, and a short walk (0.7 miles) to downtown Staunton. The house is situated on a beautiful outdoor wooded space, a wildlife viewer's dream!! A perfect blend of 1800s charm & modern comforts. Steps away from our award-winning, historic downtown, with boutiques, cafes, restaurants and art. Enjoy a unique blend of history and luxury in this quaint Virginia gem! The space Sweet Darling House is an elegant, plant-adorned, restful place for you to relax and escape. There are two bedrooms; one Queen, and one Full. Additionally, there is a semi-private reading nook/loft area with a Single daybed for naps, or a 5th guest. The bathroom is lovely - gorgeous tiles, spa-like atmosphere, with a large clawfoot tub. In addition to super soft towels and other necessities, we provide spa-inspired delights like Aura Cacia soaking salts. Our kitchen is fully outfitted with a range of great cookware, appliances, and tools to provide a wonderful experience for visiting chefs (you!) Whether you prefer french press coffee or need a lemon zester/ you'll find what you need! In addition to a gorgeous custom-built butcher block island with barstools, the kitchen great room has a cozy sitting area and dining table. The living room is chic and comfy with a large modern sofa, Smart TV, games and books. While visiting, we also hope you'll enjoy relaxing on the front porch swing, and lounging on the quiet back deck that overlooks a large and lush backyard surrounded by a canopy trees. Our backyard is known for great birdwatching. And if you have a keen eye, you'll likely spot more than a few of our deer friends from the deck! Guest access Guests have private access to the entire home and grounds.
