Tregongon House is a substantial, dog-friendly, period property, nestled in a tranquil hamlet in the heart of the Roseland Peninsula. The space Tregongon House is a magical, sprawling family home that is the perfect spot for larger groups to enjoy the idyllic location. This is one of the most dog friendly properties in the area accepting 4 dogs - but maybe more on request. There is a stunning open plan kitchen dining area with a wealth of character features including a large wood-burning stove nestled in an Inglenook fireplace, the traditional is blended seamlessly with modern luxury and an American style fridge freezer with ice dispenser and Everhot electric range cooker compliment the kitchen. There are two further living areas so children do not need to be under your feet and the extensive gardens are a delight. The bedrooms are awash with character and charm and the "dormitory wing" is perfect for 6 children in two bedrooms - they would love it! St Mawes is one of the most exclusive traditional villages in the Country, with a wealth of activities within close reach. Historic Castles from the era of Henry VIII, glistening blue waters, bustling beaches, Cornish Pubs, award-winning restaurants, amazing coastal walks, ferries to different locations, little motor boats, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards, all available for rental. (During the season) The Roseland peninsula has a huge variety of places to explore, there are many beaches, some with golden sands, some with shingle, all with a splattering of rock pools, there are secluded coves, towering cliffs, and the famous lighthouse at St Anthony. (Fraggle Rock for everyone of a certain age!) The artists' haven of Portscatho is also well worth a visit, try to book in at the Hidden Hut for some amazing al fresco dining above the stunning Porthcurnick Beach or try either of the 2 excellent pubs in the village, the Plume of Feathers in the Square or The Standard Inn at the top of the hill. Veryan is in the heart of the Roseland Peninsula and is only a short drive or a nice walk from the stunning Carne and Pendower beaches. The village itself is most famous for the stunning thatched roundhouses at each entrance to the village, there is a quaint village shop, a lovely pub and a picturesque village green and duck pond. Form Veryan it is well worth a visit to the traditional fishing villages of Portloe and Portholland, West and East, they are nestled above stunning little beaches and harbours and the coastal walks from both are amazing. Accommodation Ground floor: Entrance porch leading to Living Room with comfortable sofas and wood-burning stove. Snug lounge with sofas and TV, ideal as a kids room. Staircase to first floor. Open plan kitchen and dining room with comfortable seating, dining table and chairs, wood-burning stove, fully fitted kitchen with Everhot range cooker, rear door to garden. Conservatory with far reaching rural views and seating. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer and fitted units. WC with hand basin. First floor: Stair case leading to two wings of the house, landing with doors to: Large zip and link twin room with 3' beds which can be made up as a 6' double, built in wardrobes, ensuite bathroom with shower over, WC and hand basin. Single bedroom with 3' bed. Double bedroom with 5' bed and storage. In the other wing are the master bedroom with 6' double bed and storage, ensuite shower room with WC and hand basin. Family shower room with WC and hand basin. Twin bedroom with 2'6" beds and storage and link door through to a dormitory bedroom which is great for children containing 2 x 2'6" single beds and a 3' bunk bed. Outside: Parking for at least 5 cars. Large garden with far reaching rural views across the Roseland, patio with table and chairs, charcoal barbecue, firepit, outside shower, ideal for dogs and children, extensive gardens with mature trees and shrubs and a large lawn. Other things to note Useful Information Saturday changeover during the season - flexible during the winter months. Electricity, heating, bed linen, and towels are all included. You will need to bring your own beach towels. A security deposit of £500 will be pre-authorised on your credit/debit card. Up to a maximum of four, well-behaved dogs are welcome free of charge, and possibly more on request depending on size. No dogs upstairs. Dogs must not be left unattended in the property. For smaller groups the dormitory and linked twin bedroom will be locked. No smoking inside the property. Facilities and Services Oil central heating system with radiators, and wood burning stoves in the kitchen diner and living room. Everhot electric range cooker, American style fridge freezer with ice dispenser, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine (Nespresso pods), kettle, and toaster. Washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility room. TVs in living room and kitchen dining room. Unlimited WiFi. Cot and high chair available on request. Parking and Accessibility Parking is within 10 m of the front door. There are 4 steps down to the front door. The ground floor is mainly on one level with a couple of steps down to the conservatory and utility rooms. The bedrooms are all on the first floor. Parking for up to 4 cars - more on agreement with the owner. Parking on the lane by the porch (as the drive turns to the right) and in the single parking slot by the front garden. ​Please do NOT park on the grass verges, or in the single space opposite the entrance to the stables.
