The store is popular with travelers and locals alike, so you may notice a little bustle during the day. A few store employees live quietly in their trailers behind the property, and while it’s part of the authentic small-town character here, we want guests to know the area remains safe and welcoming. Seasonal Road Conditions & Mountain Life—Island Park is nestled in a rugged mountain setting, and with that beauty comes nature’s challenges. During the spring thaw, road conditions can get muddy, especially before the gravel base fully sets. These are private community roads, not city-maintained, so we always recommend appropriate vehicles during wetter seasons. The adventure is worth it—and most guests say it's part of the adventure.
