The space Renovated in April 2024, The Nut House offers four bedrooms and two full baths, an expansive main deck with unparalleled views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, an open concept indoor living space with plenty of comfortable seating, and a fully-equipped chef's kitchen. An enclosed sunroom with comfortable seating and windows on three sides allows guests to enjoy all-weather views. A charming squirrel theme (thus, The Nut House) extends throughout our home and honors the memory of our parents, who retired here and worked tirelessly to keep the squirrels out of their bird feeders. :) OUTDOORS Outdoors on the main deck, you'll find ample space to relax and enjoy the amazing views and cool breezes of the Blue Ridge Mountains — with plenty of comfortable seating, ample dining space, and a gas grill. A smaller deck, just outside one of the lower-level bedrooms, is perfect for enjoying that morning cup of coffee or a relaxing nightcap. The fully-stocked, complimentary coffee bar offers so much more than just coffee: regular and decaffeinated coffee pods, a selection of gourmet tea bags, turbinado sugar, sweeteners, and flavored syrups. We also provide soaps and shampoo - plus a generous supply of toilet tissue, paper towels, kitchen garbage bags, dishwasher detergent, dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent. The only incidentals you’ll need to bring are food, beverages, and condiments. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS Upstairs, you'll find two bedrooms: The first is a generous master with a plush king-size bed, nightstands, large dresser, smart TV, ceiling fan, two closets with generous hanging space, a very comfortable armchair and a breathtaking mountain view. Just off the bedroom, sharing the mountain view, is the dedicated office/work area with large desk, comfortable office chair, and a laser printer for your use. The second bedroom offers an equally comfortable queen-size bed, dresser, nightstands, closet with generous hanging space, smart TV, ceiling fan and a lovely wooded view. A large bath with double vanity is shared by the two upstairs bedrooms. On the lower level, you'll find two more bedrooms — each with new, super-comfortable beds (one queen and one full). Just outside the two main-level bedrooms, you'll find a second full bath. Crisp linens, fluffy pillows, and plenty of soft, thick towels are provided. You'll also find extra blankets and throws throughout the cabin during the colder months. Forgot a toiletry item? Check the well-stocked jar in each bathroom for a complimentary travel-size spare. PETS Traveling with a pet? We haven't forgotten your trusty companion(s)! You'll find a dedicated pet amenity basket with food bowls, blankets, throws, and cleansing wipes specifically for your four-legged friends. :) Well-behaved pets (maximum of two) under 45 lbs. are welcome upon approval. GETTING HERE/CHECKING IN The Nut House is about 1.5 miles off the main highway (17), and accessed via well-maintained paved roads — which are easily navigated year-round without the need for 4-wheel drive. Once you arrive, you'll experience easy self-check-in with a digital keypad lock. PEAK SEASONS / ADJUSTMENTS TO MINIMUM NIGHTS *Three-night minimum stay for Memorial Day Weekend, 4th of July, Labor Day Weekend, Leaf Season (October through mid-November). *Four-night minimum stay for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
