However, with great views come snowy adventures! A 4-wheel-drive vehicle and chains may be required to reach the property during a storm, and power outages, while rare, may limit some amenities. Experience the magic of winter with unbeatable lake views that few homes can match—but with great views comes great adventure! Accessing this home in the winter can be challenging, with stairs, snow, and sometimes narrow passages, so make sure you're ready for a true mountain experience. This house is a cozy haven during a storm, offering stunning views and peaceful nature. But if a big snow hits, you’ll need a 4-wheel-drive, high-clearance vehicle with snow tires to get in and out, and there may be times when you’ll have to wait until roads are cleared. In the rare event of a power outage, you’ll still have limited heat and a gas BBQ for meals, but lights, cooking appliances, and WiFi will be unavailable until service returns. TV may be out as well if the internet goes down—so pack for cozy, tech-free moments, just in case. The home is located off a well-plowed main highway (thanks to Caltrans!), but the access road only gets plowed after 6-8 inches of snow. If you're not comfortable driving in snow or don’t have the right vehicle, this may not be the best fit. There’s parking for one car (maybe two), but plow crews can’t create wide spaces after heavy snow, so a bit of shoveling may be needed. Make sure your vehicle is clear of the access road, as blocking it—or the garbage box—could delay snow removal and incur a fine ($300). If you're concerned about weather-related disruptions, we recommend trip insurance, as refunds aren't provided. In extreme cases, like a full highway shutdown, we might offer a chance to reschedule your stay. SUMMER STAYS In the summer, there is occasional brief access to the pier via the outside stairs by a buoy renter. They are always considerate and quiet. IDEAL LOCATION This home is centrally located for easy access to all Tahoe has to offer. Explore nearby hiking and biking trails, hit the slopes at local ski resorts, or browse the charming shops and restaurants of Tahoe City, all just a short drive away. With Gar Woods Grill & Pier, Tahoe Treetop Adventure Parks, and top ski resorts like Palisades Tahoe and Northstar nearby, this home is a perfect base for year-round fun. Nearby Attractions 0.7 miles to Gar Woods Grill & Pier 4.6 miles to Kings Beach 5.0 miles to Kings Beach Mini Golf 5.7 miles to Tahoe City 6.4 miles to Tahoe Treetop Adventure Parks 10 miles to Incline Village 11.2 miles to Homewood Mountain Resort 12 miles to The Village at Northstar 12 miles to Palisades Tahoe - Great skiing in the winter and ropes course in the summer! 12.3 miles to Diamond Peak Ski Resort 16.3 miles to Truckee Nearby Golf Courses 4.3 miles to Old Brockway Golf Course 5 miles to Tahoe City Golf Course 11.3 miles to The Links at Everline 15.3 miles to Ponderosa Golf Course 20.1 miles to Coyote Moon Golf Course Nearby Beaches 1 mile to Patton Beach 3.8 mile to Moon Dune Beach 3.8 miles to Lake Forest Beach Guest access Guests will have access to the entire home including outdoor space and private pier. In the summertime, there is parking for up to 3 average cars, or 2 medium SUV’s, parked diagonally, plus one parallel car parked to the south of the garbage area. From there, you will follow several flights of stairs down to the front door. The home also offers access to one buoy on Lake Tahoe for $15/day depending upon the water level. Boat registration and Insurance must be under the same name as the renter making the reservation for lodging. If you are interested in using the buoy during your stay, please send message to inquire about specifics. Other things to note This Tahoe retreat offers comfort, adventure, and unforgettable lake views for an incredible vacation experience. Book your stay today and create memories to last a lifetime! Important notes: No smoking—anywhere, anytime, of any kind. No campfires or charcoal grills—Tahoe's forests are not fans of flames. No parties, events, or commercial shoots—we like to keep things low-key. Shoes off, please—our floors prefer socks. Stairs ahead—it’s a three-floor adventure! BBQ & patio furniture available May-October, weather permitting. Please Note: This home does not have air conditioning. However, each bedroom and the living room are equipped with ceiling fans, and the home features a whole house fan to help keep things cool. Opening a few windows while the fan is running will help draw in the fresh mountain air and circulate it throughout the home. Tahoe can be wild—think fires, storms, or the occasional Wi-Fi hiccup. These things are beyond our control, so thanks for your patience. Refunds for such issues are reviewed case by case. Our cancellation policy is firm—refunds are not provided for weather, air quality, road closures, or other travel hiccups. (Pro tip: consider travel insurance!) Parking: Room for up to 3 cars in the summertime. There is only room for one car (maybe two) in the winter. Tahoe’s beauty comes with some rules: Guests are responsible for county fines if any arise during your stay. Please see the full list of county rules at the home. We’re thrilled to have you—thank you for taking care of our home as if it were your own! Registration Details STR23-7866
