Situated on the corner of a main Amish throughway and a farm road you will be transported to simpler times as you watch and hear the horse drawn buggies clip-clopping by. The space Place your bags inside the enclosed porch until you have the chance to explore and choose your bedroom in this quaint restored mid-century cape cod country home built by Abner B Smoker in 1949. Open the wood and plate-glass door into the large kitchen (original cabinets and hardware)and connected dining room. You will appreciate the counter top and island for generous food prep space. The original pine floors radiate a cheerful ambiance. Gather around the regal dining room table to reconnect with each other during meals. Unwind in the expansive open living room with large windows flooding the whole area with natural sunshine, highlighting the fascinating natural patterns in the original walnut hardwood flooring. Large screen TV is in living room. The walnut flooring extends into the first floor bedroom with attached half bath. Take the wide, open stairway into the second floor where you will find two spacious bedrooms and a full bath with a tub and shower. White Cotton bedding and towels. House is aired- out between each stay. Bedroom 1 features a King bed, a closet as well a bistro table with two chairs. A desk and make-up vanity provide plenty of surface area for your personal effects or laptop. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and a queen sofa-bed, a closet, a few chairs and a dresser. Both upstairs bedrooms sport their own TV. The owners recently spent over a year restoring the home to the vintage mid-century vibe. Their labor of love shows in every detail. Filtered well water. Nothing added. No chlorine or flouride. Linger over your coffee in the enclosed front porch as you watch the buggies go by. Locally roasted gourmet coffee is provided, as well as a Keurig and variety of k- cups. If the conditions are right you can hear the whistle of the Strasburg Rail Road a few miles away. Their is a sportsman's club 1/2 mile from the house so you may at times hear noise from the range. Book a stay in Sept. when the grapes are ripe and you may be able to enjoy some of what we think are the best Concord grapes we ever tasted. Just spectacular for a possibly over 50 yr. old grape vine!
