Beautiful house & garden in the heart of La Rochelle

Beautiful stone house completely renovated, located 7 min walk from the central market, the city center and the Old Port, and 15 min from the beach. This family accommodation is close to all shops (bakeries, pharmacy, Carrefour Market, Picard in a very close radius) and transport. Bright and spacious 120 m2 house with beautiful terrace, garden, vegetable garden, bicycle shelter and easy but metered street parking. However, it is possible to park your car for free 6 min walk away. The space We love: 1- the location!!! A few steps from the central market, but easily accessible by car, unlike the hyper-center. We drop off the luggage, we park and then we do everything on foot or by bike! 2- the garden and the vegetable garden, a small peaceful haven that is fresh and wooded - and the large terrace ideal for long meals :) 3- the charm of the old in the comfort of the modern; completely renovated, the house is very comfortable. In the main house you will find: On the ground floor: A master suite with a queen size bed, reading lights, dressing room, bathroom with shower and sink, two tilt-and-turn windows with electric shutters. A spacious entrance with shoe rack and dressing room. A large fully equipped kitchen, with a return of the worktop where it is possible to eat 4; which opens onto the terrace. A clearance with shelves that serves as a pantry. A toilet (where the hot water tank is located as well as the medicine cabinet, in the small wooden cabinet). A large opening and two steps lead to the dining/living room. A wooden table comfortably accommodates 6 people (extension for 8 available on request). The cozy living room consists of two armchairs, a sofa and Moroccan ottomans. Two libraries are at your disposal! A wood-burning stove completes the layout. An overhead projector turns the living room into a private movie theater in seconds :) A wooden staircase leads upstairs. A small landing serves a bathroom with bathtub, sink and toilet. Two bedrooms, each with their own mezzanine. In the first bedroom: one double bed (140 x 190) In the second bedroom: a single bed (90 x 190 cm) and a double bed (sofa bed 140 x 190 cm) in the mezzanine. An extra single mattress is available. A folding baby crib is also available. All openings have electric roller shutters and tilt-and-turn openings. The bedding is new and comfortable. The living room lights are adjustable. The house has fiber and good wifi. Water diffusers are installed on the green plants, but if you find them looking unhappy, don't hesitate to water them! We live in our house year-round, with our two children; we have completely renovated it ourselves with love, forgive the small flaws you may find :) Guest access You have access to the entire house and garden, including the shed where you will find a washing machine and dryer, tools, outdoor toys and deckchairs. Only the garage will be locked. Access to the house is from the street, where you enter the garden through a gate that is best locked at night, or when you are not there. The house has a front door that directly serves an entrance and kitchen, and outdoor lights (including LED garland on the terrace) Other things to note Beware if you have allergies: cat on board! Our lively and kind cat Otto will be your host during your stay. She is completely autonomous, comes and goes through her cat flap (do not touch the settings!), gets her kibble from the vending machine and water from her fountain, but if there is a technical problem, do not hesitate to give her some :) she loves to be petted - but be careful with young children, a paw swipe is not impossible if you bother her. The vegetable garden (home-grown!) is available for your use, and should in theory be full of tomatoes, chard, beans, beets, carrots, peas, broccoli, strawberries, etc. Feel free to enjoy it and harvest what you need!
