Guest access Entire house, entire pool Other things to note Overlooking the eastern plain, the village of Antisanti is built on a ridge. The view of the region is breathtaking. According to local legends, in clear weather, at the very end of the immensity of the Mediterranean, it is possible to see Rome! The old houses of Antisanti Antisanti rises to 700 meters above sea level, surrounded by Corsican nature. To enlighten visitors, an orientation table indicates the reliefs of the Bozio that surround the village. Around Antisanti are also the Rio Magno and Tavignano valleys. Not to mention the plain of Aléria. Behind the village, the mountainous spine of central Corsica stands proudly. Here, in the heart of the island of beauty, we measure the extent of Corsica's nickname. Between sea and mountain, Antisanti does not forget to bring culture and history to life. The proof is in its old houses. The Pietrana hut is the oldest. It dates back to the 14th century. Among the other buildings in the village, the baroque church also has a long history. This is the Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens church, enlarged in the 1940s. All around the religious building, which gives rhythm to local life, the inhabitants go about their business. Antisanti's daily life is organized between the post office, the grocery store, the cafes and of course the main square, dedicated to parties and pétanque. Rare for a French village, even more so for a Corsican village, the population is increasing from year to year. Many associations are committed to Antisanti, in particular the sports association that celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2021. The story of the bandit Gallochju The village of Antisanti is full of stories and legends. In the 19th century, the village gendarmerie was shaken by the bandit Gallochju who terrorized the region. He was the cause of several murders, and in recent years, he has been the main character of a comic book that tells his story. On the road to the villages of the Oriente Between Vivario and Aléria, Antisanti is one of the most beautiful panoramic villages in Corsica. There are many more. Pianello, Canale-di-Verde, Moïta, Campi… These are the villages of the Oriente, all of which have their own story to tell. Enjoy the Corsican clementine Antisanti is the leading producer of clementines, not only in Corsica but in the whole of France. A highly appreciated local fruit, the clementine owes its name to the monk Brother Clément. The first Corsican clementine tree was planted in 1925. It was not until the 1960s that the cultivation intensified and the fruit became popular enough to be used in desserts and local recipes. Since 2007, the Corsican clementine has been the subject of a protected geographical indication. In pure respect for the traditions of the island, we continue to pick it by hand. It is recognizable by the fuselage of its green leaves and its smooth skin. When it reaches maturity, the Corsican clementine offers a lot of taste. No need to look any further to appreciate the charm of Antisanti: it is found and already expressed through nature.
